What do you love most about your job?
The delight when that 'Aha!' moment is attained and a pupil realises that they understand something which leads to them resolving a problem.
What inspired you to start your own business?
Having retired early from full time teaching in an Independent School, I was asked if I could support a pupil on a 1-1 basis at home, and found that while missing aspects of the classroom, I thoroughly enjoy teaching as a private tutor. I began to respond to more enquiries and am looking to increase my client base.
Why should our clients choose you?
I listen to pupils and parents, and respond to their needs in a positive way. Parents are able to gather instant feedback and to discuss next steps. I have worked in a department which consistently gained excellent CE entrance results, and prior to my recent post I worked in a state primary school where I was responsible for preparing Year 5 and 6 pupils for SATs, again with excellent results. As a parent, I understand the pressures perceived by parents and pupils, and I appreciate how easy it is for children to lose confidence amongst a class of peers if they struggle to understand an aspect of the work.
