It was a great experience from the beginning. I was never & in my head, as usual. I like being in my "happy place", that's doing aerobics, walking & eating what I like when I like. Well Action Fitness became my happy place. The work outs were challenging, which taught me that I was stronger & more resilient than I thought. So it helped me to push myself which helped me to gain muscle, lose weight/fat & I can plank now:)
The nutrition plan helped me to be more creative with food choices, recipes & portions. I've never met a better group of people all working together in one place.

This is my honest review of Action Fitness 6 weeks challenge program. I joined the challenge in July and was successfully able to win and achieve my fitness goals in just 6 weeks (Lost 23 lbs, and 7% body fats)Everyone from the owner John Castro to the training team and support staff is honestly amazing. The orientation process and diet plan was super easy, detailed and organized.Things I like most was 1. Assignment of a personal trainer (Sergio in my case) who constantly monitors and guides you towards your goals. I have attended the session of all trainers (Joel, Sergio, Josh, John) and have never felt that I am not getting enough guidance. Even at times when the class was super full, I had received one-to-one guidance from the trainer who constantly monitors the postures and guides you to adapt right techniques. 2. Schedule is super flexible, they have classes that runs enough times during the day to pick and choose from.3. They even have the schedule posted on Mind & Body app which is very convenient.4. This is my honest review of Action Fitness 6 weeks challenge program. I joined the challenge in July and was successfully able to win and achieve my fitness goals in just 6 weeks (Lost 23 lbs, and 7% body fats)Everyone from the owner John Castro to the training team and support staff is honestly amazing. Action Fitness is a phenomenal place! The staff and coaches helped me lose 29 pounds in 6 weeks and changed my life to a better and healthier one. I could not have done this without this awesome team. Not only did they provide me with an easy to follow meal plan (and shopping list) but their group workouts were awesome and effective.Despite having a prior shoulder injury I was able to participate in the workouts because the coaches modified the exercises to my needs and abilities.I was always encouraged and supported. I completed the 6 week challenge today! I lost 21 Lbs AND 7% Body fat!! This was one of THE best decisions I’ve ever made. Action Fitness streamlined the process and made getting physically fit & mentally fit about nutrition and exercise very simple and straightforward. The coaches/instructors are top notch and each specialize in different areas of physical health. If my work schedule wasn’t so crazy I would absolutely join their gym! I had been procrastinating about my weight for a while. I came across Action Fitness online so I stopped by to get more info. My timing was perfect because they were starting a ++weight loss challenge boot camp in a couple of weeks so I signed up. The trainers were friendly and they explained the entire process, it was a combination of hour long workouts and a diet plan. The challenge was to lose 20 pounds in 6 weeks. I'm happy to say I stuck to the plan and with the help from the trainers, I did it. It was a great experience, I feel great and would happily recommend Action Fitness. More...

So, I joined Action Fitness a year ago after my 6 week challenge.   I did not win the challenge,  but lost the most weight I had in a long time.  The coaches are really what makes the gym.   They are very knowledgeable and caring,  and will help you with modifications if you're not able to do all  the exercises.  I had not really worked out in years,  and needed this type of help.  The people there are  accepting and it is easy to go to the classes.  The gym is expensive, the facility is not fancy,   but delivers results. I've been at Action Fitness since November 2017. I started off with the 6 week challenge and only made it halfway to my goal.  I didn't follow the nutrition plan to a T and could have adjusted my workouts according to my coach's advice a little better.  I feel if I did those things I would have made my goal.  But I am happy with the results I did get.  I lost over 10lbs, lost over 3% body fat and dropped two dress sizes in those 6 weeks.  The all of the coaches were helpful and made sure we all used proper techniques while doing our workouts.  They also provided modifications for those who needed it including myself. They also keep you accountable which helped a lot. I am currently recovering from a spinal injury and I believe coming to Action Fitness has helped with my recovery process. At the end of my challenge I decided to stay with them. I still continue to see improvements with myself and others have noticed at well.  5+ stars for the coaches. 5 stars for the program.  4 stars for the facilities - I think it could use a little updating. So this is my honest review as someone who did the 6 week challenge and decided to become a member afterwards.6 WEEK CHALLENGE:  I get why people are so turned off about the money deposit to do a "free" challenge and it feels like a bait and switch.  I don't personally think this marketing style is the way to go but I also don't think people should be surprised that a full 6 week program of small group training and coaching wouldn't necessarily be totally free.  When I signed up, I was told that it is a 50/50 success rate which I think is honest.  Everyone's body is different and while some people can cheat on their meals and still meet their goal, I followed the program to the T (and did extra), and I did not meet my challenge, even though my coach told me the week before that I definitely would b/c I was soooooo close.  I was super bitter about this but in the end, the money was worth the amount of weight and inches I did lose.  I even had to get new clothes because nothing fit anymore!  So if you're thinking about doing this, you have to be realistic that you may not get your money back.  However, you should focus on if the money is worth it to you to lose the weight (which is the real win!), rather than focusing on winning a challenge.  I personally had tried every other workout class and gym for years and this place actually got me results (and in 6 weeks!).JOINING AFTERWARDS AS A MEMBER:Even though I didn't win my challenge, I joined because I had real results.  It is a pricey membership but for now, it's what I need to be successful.  I have not put the weight back on and I have definitely gotten stronger.  Here are the pros and cons of the membership.Pros:  The trainers are awesome.  It really is like small group training because the coaches are very hands on and are always pushing you.  Also, because this is a small transformation gym and not a crossfit gym, almost everyone is there with the goal to lose weight so it's not an intimidating climate or culture.  Everyone is there to better themselves.Cons:  This is definitely a no-frills gym and it is very expensive. For the price you pay, you would get nicer decor and fancy amenities at other places but there is no shower, towel service, high end toiletries, etc.  This can be super inconvenient if you want to workout before going to work.  That being said, I still pay my monthly rate and go to classes about 5 times a week. I started gaining weight since last three years and I knew that it was not good and even I wanted to join gym classes but I did not have strong will. Eventually my doctor told me that I am pre-diabetic, have cholesterol and high blood pressure. She gave me 3 months to control my weight and sugar otherwise I would be on medications. This was the point when I joined Action Fitness.I started 6 week challenge at Action Fitness and now I am in 5th week. Before starting I thought diet would be hard for me and class would be easy but it was totally opposite. Meal plan was awesome but class was difficult for 1st week. I recommend Action Fitness to change your life as they have impacted my life in a very positive way. I am very grateful and thankful to all coaches specially Coach Lorie, COACH SERGIO and Coach John. God bless all of them including all members of Action Fitness.Update: I just finished my 6 week challenge and got the results of my weigh out. I lost 21.8 lbs and 5.4% body fat. I began putting on weight since the most recent two years and i realized that it was bad and even i needed to join gymnasium classes yet i didn't have a solid will. In the end, my specialist  disclosed to me that i am pre-diabetic, have cholesterol and hypertension. She allowed me 3 months to control my weight and sugar else i would be on medicines. This was the moment that i joined Action Fitness few months ago when i was transferred.I began a multi-week challenge at Action Fitness and now i am in the fourth week. Before beginning, i figured eating routine would be hard for me and class would be simple however it was absolutely inverse. Feast plan was amazing however, the class was troublesome for the first week.I prescribe Action Fitness to transform you as they have affected my life in a positive manner. I am exceptionally appreciative and grateful to all mentors uncommonly coaches who have given me the proper guidelines of how to reduce weight without compromising your health. God favors every one of them including all individuals from Action Fitness.I feel more advantageous, progressively lively and obviously extremely propelled. In contrast to some other weight reducing center, to achieve your objective they truly work with you. Your relegated mentor is truly accessible for your day in and day out, ask him whether you can eat this or not, they continue checking you come to exercises, content you how feel after exercise and so forth. This Action Fitness Center will convey you to another dimension where you can appreciate eating well and a great deal of fun with exercise. I had a ton of fun. Swear is like Fat Crying inside you.Note:I simply completed my multi-week challenge and got the aftereffects of my to weight out. I lost 13.8 1bs and 3.5% muscle versus fat. I needed a new jumpstart on my weightloss journey and Action Fitness was just what I needed. I joined the 6 week challenge and loss 24lbs and 7 inches. My experience with Action Fitness was the best; the staff is very encouraging, my coach kept me accountable and he walked me through until the end (Sergio is the absolute best!) Heard about the FREE 6 week challenge at Action Fitness and had to give it a try and it sure didn't disappoint!! Amazing coaches guiding you every step of the way with a detailed meal plan, workout techniques and classes all designed for your specific body type, and all at a cost of $0. 00!!! I walked into Action Fitness a year ago weighing in at 263lb, down about myself and suffering from daily heartburn episodes. For awhile I've known that I had to make a change to increase my activity and eating habits, but it wasn't until the doctors told me either lose weight or they were going to recommend surgery to alleviate my GERD, that it compelled me to take Action, no pun intended.I look at various gyms in the area but not until I came to the orientation here did I find a place I knew would enable me to hold myself accountable, regarding diet, exercise plan and most important self accountability.I'm very grateful to this team for the structure and motivation they provide and I trust that add long as you have some incentive to improve your health Action Fitness is the right place for you.I lost 21.5 pounds in the first 6 weeks. I started my 6 week challenge with Action Fitness and I’m so happy I did and won! This is a different kind of gym, every one here actually cares! The coaches were friendly, offered guidance and support with the recommended diet, and challenged you at every turn. Do exactly what they say! Put in the work! You will see results! I lost 8.3% of my body fat and 10lbs. I feel so much better and confident in my body. I highly recommend Action Fitness, the workouts were different and fun every time, good for the intermediate and the absolute beginner. I am so happy to have found this place! I saw an ad on Facebook in September 2018 and decided to try their 6 week challenge, which I just successfully completed with a total weight loss of 24 pounds and a loss of 6. 7% body fat! At the time, I had already been debating joining a gym to get back into a consistent workout regimen after having a hip injury for several months.Unlike other gyms I was looking at, I chose Action Fitness because of the focus on group fitness that involved strength, cardio, and stretching, as well as the accountability and support (as the challenge mandates that you go to 3 or 4 classes a week, with a coach that you consistently check in with). I loved the structure of each class and wouldn't be able to provide that intensity by myself at a gym, even if I didn't have an injury that I didn't know what to do with. Additionally, as someone who had to learn a lot of the exercises for the first time, and someone who sweats a lot and feels self-conscious about it, I felt comfortable with other people in the classes that ranged from beginners to pros. The coaches/trainers were great. Although I didn't interact with all of them, Sergio, Lorie, John, and Jholeman are really approachable and down to earth. The trainers proactively work to personalize any exercises in your workouts if you need modifications based on injuries/pain, or if you need help doing a certain exercise correctly. The workouts were somewhat like a high-intensity session of physical therapy for me and actually made my injury feel a lot better. I rarely felt like I was just going through the motions and always felt challenged by the coaches, while also being able to go at a pace that was best for any soreness or pain I had. Action Fitness is a bit small but doesn't need to be any bigger. However, sometimes the larger classes (~20 people) were a bit hard for the trainers to manage efficiently such that the atmosphere was a bit less personalized - some people thrive in that kind of environment but I found it a bit overwhelming. Luckily you can see how many people are attending each class when you sign up through the Mind Body app.The classes aren't always at the most convenient times but should be able to work for anyone at least a few times a week, what with their different schedules for Monday-Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. I would have probably preferred an 8 or 8:30 group exercise class on weekdays but was able to work with the 9:30 classes. There are also 5:30 classes available for people who need to get to work by 7 or 8 AM. Overall, it is really a great community that I see myself continuing to go to even with my 6 week challenge being over. I encourage anyone interested to check it out! More...

Action fitness is just what is says it is- a true transformation center! 6 weeks ago I embarked on a fitness challenge that I shared on Facebook for obvious accountability reasons. As a former high level athlete and coach I got a monster wake up call this year when stepping on the scale.One day I had it and came across this ad on Facebook of all places. I chose a place bc it had former GMU grads and that is a highly respected Kinesiology Department and it looked intriguing and fun. It is called Action Fitness in Fairfax and it looked to be very supportive of what i wanted to accomplish.The Deal- you pay on front end and if you I reach your goal You get money back or can put towards membership.. The Goal was either 20 lbs or 6 percent body fat in 6 weeks. 20 lbs would be an unrealistic goal for someone of my size so i went for the body fat.The How: High intensity interval training 4 days a week with cross training days on others, high accountability through private Facebook site, a coach holding me accountable always, a very specific eating plan that corresponded with the work out plan. All real food. No supplementation except some good old whey protein shakes which i had once a day. No gimics- no supplements- only hard work. Resetting the metabolism.My Result today 3 days before the true end bc i am traveling for work: 6.1 percent body fat- 8 inches lost between the 3 measurement areas (breast waist hips) and 7 lbs weight loss.I am super proud of myself. What i also got in return is decreased pain in joints, significantly lower inflammation in body, higher self confidence, no cravings and (high low sugar rushes- )etc etcWe spend so much money on jeans, new cars, new this new that. Spending time on yourself is very important. Glad I took a leap of faith with Lorie Foster Sergio Flores John Casto at Action Fitness Private Community. I just finished my 6 week weight loss challenge at Action Fitness, and I am so thankful for all of their support. I lost 12. 7% body fat, 20.9 pounds, and 7.5 inches during my challenge. I did it!!! This place is legit. I came into Action for their 6 week challenge wide eyed and a little skeptical. I finished the 6 week challenge 12 pounds lighter and with 8. 6% less body fat. The results speak for themselves but one thing you can't see are the personable, relatable, great staff and coaches that work there. Everyone is extremely welcoming and want to see you succeed. I just finished my 6 weeks challenge and I won!!! Down 8,5% body fat and 9 lbs! It’s not magic you need to work hard and be rigorous but Action Fitness has a great team of coaches , mine Laurie D was really helpful, cheering me up when I was feeling down and when I was doubting . .. giving me advice. I participated in the 6 week challenge at Action Fitness, and it was a great experience. The staff there really know what they are doing, and it is the most complete program I have experienced. They combine a specific easy to follow diet plan with exercise for the most efficient way to meet a target goal, and people are achieving results. This is the most completed program today. They not only target your weight they also give you a meal plan which you learn to eat healthy and this is a plus. Not everyone has this in their package. Action fitness is an amazing gym with a great group of instructors and a wonderful program for both losing weight, or in my case, gaining weight. I've always been underweight by many measurements, but during my six week challenge, I managed to put on 10% of my body weight while only increasing my fat by a few percent. I absolutely love this gym! The coaches are amazing and truly care about helping you to reach your goals whatever they may be. If you've got injuries or just starting out your fitness journey, they're here to help you modify exercises so you can get stronger (safely). And as you get stronger, they keep the exercises challenging so you continue to push yourself and keep on progressing. I just finished my 6 weeks challenge and I won!!! Down 8,5% body fat and 9 lbs! It’s not magic you need to work hard and be rigorous but Action Fitness has a great team of coaches , mine Laurie D was really helpful, cheering me up when I was feeling down and when I was doubting . .. giving me advice.
Big thank you to Sergio and Jhole for helping me during fun workouts and pushing me . I would definitely recommend AF , I feel so much better , I have more energy !
I learned lots of new healthy habits and met new friends !!!

This is an amazing environment and has great coaches. In 6 weeks, I lost 21 pounds and 5.7% body fat with their intense training and diet plan. I feel healthier, more energetic and of course very motivated. Unlike any other gyms, to reach your goal they really work with you. You assigned coach is literally available for you 24/7 (You rock Sergio!), ask him whether you can eat this or not, they keep checking you come to work-outs, text you how you feel after work-outs etc. This gym will carry you to a new level where you can enjoy eating healthy and a lot of fun with work-outs. most of us eat our problems our stress and ended up making the wrong choices about our health doing quick fixes like eating comfort food in this place you find people who help you to enjoy the healthy way, the good eating habits, the love to see what you body is capable of, yes is nice to loose way but to me is better enjoy the process, enjoy yourself and learn how you can manage your problems in a healthy way that's why they are a transformation center because we need more than just a caloric deficit we need a community and guidance, the coaches can work with you at any level any age even with an injure they are qualified, they always work base on your personal goals and modify any exercise for you and they are there for you as true friends.
