DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! Once the slick pre-sale phase has passed and they have your money, everything goes downhill from there. The first sign of incompetence was when the promised 6-8 week delivery/fitting period wasn't met. Then they demanded full payment up front and when we protested that this we would leave us with no recourse if something went wrong we were bluntly told "this is not the way we do business". So we reluctantly paid up and bitterly lived to regret it. On the day of installation we had to fight to get them to provide more dustsheets to protect our expensive rugs, curtains and soft furnishings from being covered in mountains of dust. We were told this was our responsibility and that the company had told us that. Firstly they hadn't and secondly, a professional company should have made sure that their work did not damage our belongings. Then, after they'd reluctantly agreed to get more dustsheets, we were told that they'd ordered the wrong size hearths. Since we were having fireplaces fitted in both our lounge and dining room and the work had already started, this left us living in what amounted to a building site for a week whilst the proper sized hearths were commissioned and delivered. I called twice to speak with the owner and sent emails but was told he was too busy to take my calls and there's been no written response. He clearly doesn't care. When both fireplaces were finally installed, neither match what we were shown in the showroom that we'd be purchasing. Since we'd been bullied into paying the full amount up front we had no recourse. Two employees informally spoke of compensation for this considerable disruption but none has been formally offered. We were however contacted to ask if we'd send photos of the fireplaces to presumably be used for marketing purposes. Any company can make an honest mistake, but it is the behaviour exhibited when that happens that demonstrates whether the corporate values are based on integrity and sound business ethics that put the customer first. In the case of Acquisitions these are totally absent. Any references on their website to fitting fireplaces at Downing Street or Buckingham Palace must have happened a very long time ago because the new owner cares only about making money. More...
