No hot water, called Ace whose earliest appt was 2 days time. They then changed the time of my appt day before and then on the day (today) cancelled my appointment by email 45 mins AFTER they were due here. Unreliable and won’t rebook with them. Very disappointed. More...

While they might not be the cheapest I’ve always found Ace to be reliable, trustworthy and get the job done. Have used for a couple of boiler repairs and in both cases have been straightforward and easy to deal with.

I have used a variety of local plumbing companies over the years and thought they were all similar, but having recently found Ace Plumbing, wow - what a difference! When a number of faults developed in my bathroom (including toilet unable to flush) my previous plumber (not Ace) visited to measure up and went away to quote on parts. After a while he revisited but the parts were not the right ones, a long time then elapsed during which I left messages but never received a reply. Because of the relative urgency - fed up pouring buckets down the loo! - I called another plumber instead. The other plumber didn’t turn up.Finally I contacted Ace – how I wish I had known about them years before! Almost immediately sent a chap to measure up, then as good as gold awesome Rob quickly followed on to sort things out. Loads of small but really helpful bathroom repairs were made at the same time - even fixing things my previous plumber said weren’t possible! Ace have been quite superb - responsive, fast, reliable, excellent value and their experience and quality meticulous workmanship shines through. The whole team have been fabulous from start to finish with a level of professionalism I didn’t realise existed in the local plumbing trade. Well deserving of their ‘Which Trusted Trader’ accolade which I know is really tough to achieve - I now have a brilliant plumbing company I can rely on and confidently recommend to my friends as well. We have been using ACE for several years now, so this review is not for one job only, but it is a reflection on several years of service. Over the last 4 years we have replaced 2 gas boilers (separate buildings), installed a new hot water cylinder, commissioned underfloor heating, and had a few emergency visits. Our last job was an installation of a new gas range cooker.Our search for a plumber/heating engineer started by asking for quotes from several local tradesmen, and even though one of them came in with a better quote, further communication with that person didn't flow, so I contacted ACE again, (Ben from ACE was the only one who thanked me for the inquiry after my note that I was going to employ someone else). How pleased I am now that it worked out this way. Here are few points which make ACE stand out in my eyes:- we can count on ACE - we had a couple of heating emergencies (in winter months - typical) and Ben and the team responded quickly, they went out of their way to come after hours and stayed until 9pm to get our heating going again. All within normal charge rates.- their prices are competitive, and their service is exceptionally good. - they have very good customer facing skills (meaning, they are polite, efficient and honest) - they also have a wealth of knowledge for both, traditional and new technologies.
