I used the guys at Absolute this week to sand a through lounge which was half carpeted with dark floorboards underneath, with the other half stained with a yellow pine. My initial interactions were with Joshua, who was very quick in reverting back to me and getting a quote together, despite having become a new father just days before. I also appreciated their honesty in recommending the cheaper resin gap filler rather than more expensive wood fillers in terms of how the end result would look.It was a three day job, with minimal mess left by Stan and Nick. We found AFS to be extremely responsive to emails and they provided a quote for our work less than 24 hours after we sent the quote request email. We were impressed by the customer service throughout and even at quote stage, got the impression that AFS would do the best job, particularly on the more complicated aspects of our job on the stairs. They weren’t the cheapest company we asked to quote, but we judged the extra price to be worth it.The team that did the work were professional, communicative and courteous, and worked efficiently and in a tidy manner. Towards the end of the job, we had a few issues where the sanding and lacquering didn’t go as planned, such that the initial finish wasn’t what we wanted. The team at AFS were quick to correct this and re-sand and re-lacquer the affected areas.In the end, we were satisfied with finish, it just took a little longer to get there than anticipated - hence 4 rather than 5 stars. The sander was on time, very polite, helpful and completed all tasks discussed competently. Was particularly worried about damage to newly installed therma skirting, it remained pristine when the job was done, which was a huge relief. One area that may use improvement is clarity in communication with the company. I needed sanding of old hallway boards which ended in a brand new multiple step pine stair. I requested that the stairs "be finished to match the hall floor". Was informed that the colour match would not be 100% due to the age difference, understandable. However, the resulting colour difference is still pretty extreme. If I'd been advised to consider stair staining or any type of darkening varnish for the stairs, I would have done so. More...

What do you love most about your job?
At Absolute Floor Sanding, the thing we love most about our work is playing a massive role in transforming our clients area's from a dull lifeless area to a vibrant centre piece of the room we are doing.
What inspired you to start your own business?
I personally started off working for another floor sanding company, once I realised I was good at my job, my focus then turnt to the customer focus and the organisation of the company I worked for. Looking deeper into it I soon realised that I felt I could deliver a much better customer based package which was cleaner and more organised.....the rest they say is history.
Why should our clients choose you?
This is not a job for me this is my life and my future, something I'm committed to, proud of, and would be happy to say that's my work there.
