Best gym in the capital region. Super friendly/helpful owners and staff. Huge assortment of weights/machines for the serious power-lifter/bodybuilder as well as simpler machines for beginners. Private lifting area for women, along with tons of classes and cardio equipment. If you can't get a good workout here, you can't get one anywhere. Overall, just a great atmosphere. Started up here a few years back (2015) after leaving the military, tried out a few other local gyms and when I started at ABC I knew I found someplace different. They didn't cater to just signing up members and hoping they didn't shiw up to use the equipment. The staff and owner were always seen working and working out, always taking advice on what could improve the gym experience. Fast forward a few years and we now have arguably the best weight room in the northeast, and damn sure the best atmosphere for improving yourself whatever your goals are. I joined ABC about 3 weeks ago. The staff is friendly, the gym is kept clean and the equipment is kept in great repair (ie no rips/tears/worn down items). I am usually there just before 4pm week days and there is plenty of available machines to choose from. I do like the women only area as I am not yet comfortable with my routine or body and that space gives me a small measure of privacy & quiet to try new excercises. I had to cancel my membership at ABC because I moved 45 mins away but this place was awesome! Makes all other gyms look bad, the new one I’m at now is good but nothing compared to ABC and I wish I could’ve stayed. Best gym in the 518 by far

My biggest issue is that this is the first gym I belonged too. So this developed me to have expectations that all gyms operate like this. Like that you see the owner working out there, the front desk is friendly, people who work out here act like a big family that doesn’t intimidate you but encourages you. The biggest most jacked guy there is delighted to help you out. I even witnessed the owner cancel someone’s membership who bullied someone.This truly feels like a member owned gym. The equipment there is what the members want and they add new things there all the time by request. They don’t have a mysterious financial company that runs things in the background who doesn’t care about the gym at all like Best Fitness does. They don’t do some schemey sales pitch and only demand to talk to you in person. The member price is way way low for what you get. The reason why I no longer go here is that I moved and know if I didn’t find a gym close to me I’d never go. I looked at best fitness because it was two minutes away and saw the reviews but thought I was just talking my way out of working out again. I made the biggest mistake, so much so that I bought out my contract so I don’t have to go back to that awful place. ABC is worth the drive even if it’s an hour away and I feel so so guilty for going somewhere else and wish I never did. More...
