My fiancé and I were on the search for a great breeder. We searched high and low for a place to purchase a Gsd. After looking online and in other near by states we ended up finding Abby kennels. We contacted Kevin and made an appointment to go meet our future companion. We visited the kennel. The facility was very clean and well organized. Kevin showed us around and how well his dogs were trained and we were impressed. We ended up getting a female Shepard from Abby kennels. It didn't end    there. He would contact us to make sure she was doing well and was very attentive to questions we had about her. When it's time for a new puppy we will defiantly be going the Abby kennels again. I have owned German Shepherds the past 30 years. In November 2012 I lost my best friend. Exodus Zur Bindenburg. He was 11 1/2 when he passed and took part of my heart with him. Exy came from Kevin who owned his mother Coblenz Vom Noble.I got him when he was a little over 4 years old. He came back to the US from Argentina where he had competed.When I registered him with the AKC, I found out Kevin was the breeder.I had spoken with Kevin a few times over the past year or so as I thought about getting Exy a friend.So after of 6 months of being sad every day, I was at the point of being ready to find my new best friend.After driving from Florida to Mass, I finally met Kevin, Kathy and the staff at Abby Kennels.I had my girlfriend along with me, as well as her Papillion Stuey (9 pounds wet !).Everyone at Abby Kennels was were friendly and helpful.Kevin is the most knowledgeable person regarding dogs that I have ever met.We looked at a few dogs, until he showed us Xena.She is a 10 month old black GSD. She had been trained in obedience and was also housebroken.As was with Exy, Kevin owns Xena's mother Ziva.It was a match made in heaven........Kevin payed close attention to the match and in fact had told me prior to driving up that he would not let me buy a dog that was a bad match.Today makes 9 days since we got home with Xena.She is the most amazing girl in the world.She is everything I ever wanted and an absolute joy.Her manners are impeccable, and she settled in to our daily routines fast.She will be staying with Kevin when we ride cross country on a motorcycle this summer. I want her to continue learning to her full potential. My first GSD was a Schutzhund III dog, my Rottweiler Sabrina, and Exy also had been fully trained dogs.Our family increased in size from the trip to Abby.Kevin and Kathy are now part of our family.For anyone looking to add a dog to their family or have their dog trained or boarded, I highly recommend Kevin and Abby Kennels.Exy will wait for me at the Rainbow Bridge, but that is hopefully many years awayI now look forward to many years with my new best friend Xena Zur Bindenburg.Thank you Kevin & Abby Kennels, you gave me back the broken piece of my heart.With My Deepest Gratitude,Steven W. I have been taking my dogs to Abby Kennels for over four years now, and I am very happy with the care and attention that my dogs get there every time. It is always extremely clean, and they are very attentive to one of my dog's special dietary needs. When you go away on vacation you don't want to be worry about how your dogs are doing and if they are safe; by boarding my dogs at Abby Kennels, I know that my dogs will be taken good care of and are safe. There are very tall fences around the entire place, and the owner lives on the premises, so there is always someone there with the dogs. It's not like other chain kennels, where the store closes and all the employees go home. It is worth noting that the runs for each dog are huge and have an indoor and outdoor section separated with a doggie door, Compare this to other kennels that are completely indoors - your dog is going to the bathroom in the same area where he or she is sleeping. Your dog also learns that it's okay to go the bathroom indoors and goes back home to do the same thing. No thank you. I have had many family members offer to watch my dogs when I have gone on trips, and I would rather pay to board my dogs at Abby Kennels, because it is worththe peace of mind that I get knowing my dogs are safe. I trust the staff at Abby Kennels with my dogs more than I do my own family. I have sent many of my friends to Abby to board their dogs, and have gotten nothing but positive feedback from them. We have been taking our rescue dog to Abby Kennel for 2 years now (starting when she was about  6 - 8 months old) and for the most part could not be happier with the service.  She goes for doggie day care 5 days a week (she has severe separation anxiety and can not be left home alone unfortunately) and still gets excited to see the other dogs and the folks who work there whenever we bring her in.  They were wonderful working with her to get acclimated to the day care initially, and the play time has helped keep her in great health as well as let her get lots of exercise.  Everyone there seems very attentive to the dogs while they are there, not to mention their assistance in training her (as well as my family) on basic obedience - our little pup is 80+ pounds so she can be quite a handful.  We have also kenneled her a few times with no issues, and have taken advantage of the grooming services with decent (not amazing though) results.  (The "OK" grooming is probably the only thing keeping this review from hitting 5 stars.) My husband and I went out of town for the holidays. It is such a relief to the both of us knowing that our 2 dogs will be taken care of. I know that they are safe and secure. I have boarded my dog Morgan there many times during this past year. Â He is a Puggle and the beagle in him likes to howl from time to time. Â This past time his howling at night caused the neighbors to call and complain. Â Instead of calling me while I was on vacation the owner brought him up in to his home and took care of him until the scheduled pick up date. Â The owner could have muzzled him, put a bark collar on or something else but he treated him like his own. We have boarded our dog at Abby Kennels and take her to doggie daycare.  She is a Pitbull mix that was not well socialized as a puppy, and as a result we've not always felt welcome at other establishments.  The owner of Abby Kennels (Kevin) can come off a bit gruff, but his firm attitude towards the dogs is ultimately for their benefit and the dogs all respect him.  They are used to dealing with German Shepard puppies and they don't expect every dog to be perfect.  The staff is caring, professional, and take a keen interest in each dog and took the time to develop a socialization plan for our dog.  Yes, it's more expensive than  run-of-the-mill Petco or Petsmart, but the peace of mind afforded by Abby Kennels is worth every penny and then some.  Highly recommended. I have been doing business and training with Kevin and Abby Kennels for many years. My current dog is from him and she is one of the best dogs I have had. Â Well bred and awsome example of a working German Shepherd. I trained her as search dog for a Gov contracter and she has100% search success at Ft Devens. Dogs are his business and his life. Â I currently have couple young prospects from him and these dogs are very nice. Â He is very knowledgable of working dogs and training dogs.
