Our two sons joined the Abbotsford Karate Club in September 2018 and quickly found a second home with with a great bunch of highly skilled athletes. This dojo supports both new comers and the elite in a supportive, fun learning envirnonment. Our boys are challenged to be their best, to respect themselves and others, and to work hard. The environment at the Abbotsford Karate Club teaches more than the physical sport. Under the excellent mentorship of Sensei Paul and Sensei Ted, they are learning the discipline of karate and many important life lessons as well. I have been doing karate for almost a year now and have loved every minute of it! Learning karate under Sensei Paul and Sensei Ted has been a fantastic experience and they’re so kind and encouraging. Everyone is always available to answer your questions and lend a helping hand. And the self defence I have learned here also allows me to feel more safe and have more confidence in myself. I have been in martial arts for over 20 years and have never been to a more welcoming, patient, kind and wholesome environment. The teaching is excellent and there is more taught here than martial arts. These are true mentors. My son attends regularly. I did for some time as well and my daughter has attended on occasion. We have been coming to this Dojo for 3 years now and I just can't express how great it has been for our son. Sensei Paul and Sensei Ted display remarkable patience with the students while teaching. Their way of instructing focuses on showing respect, listening ,following the rules and at the same time building confidence. I've trained here with Sensei Paul and Sensei Ted for just over 5 years, and it's been a tremendous experience. My greatest fear when I began my search for a martial arts club was that it would be intimidating, but the Abbotsford Karate Club is an inviting group of dedicated people who have joined for many different reasons. Over the past years this group has become like family to me. The instructors are incredibly supportive, knowledgeable, and dedicated. The overall pursuit - self defense and respect - I originally joined up for has benefited me in all areas of my day-to-day, but being apart of the group at the Abbotsford Karate Club has transformed my life.
