My love for animals goes back over 25+ years. I’ve always owned animals, mainly dogs, ranging from Great Danes to Chihuahuas. Wherever I seem to go animals follow me - if it wasn't for my husband I’d take them all home!!

We are so grateful to have discovered A Walk in the Bark. Ryan and Miranda have been super to work with - always friendly, always helpful. They have shifted Lemmie from being a dog unable to tolerate other dogs to being a dog who happily walks and plays with whatever doggy companions are part of the pack for his scheduled walks. They also home-visited and walked with him when we were away, giving us huge peace of mind. The final recommendation comes from Lemmie himself who absolutely ADORES Ryan and gets all squeaky and excited when Ryan knocks on our door. I think that says everything, don't you?! Miranda and Ryan have been so lovely from the very first visit. Dexter was ill one week and they both messaged to check on how he was doing and even came to walk him individually to still give him some exercise. They are a cheap and friendly dog service and would highly recommend they take my dog Leo out for a walk every Thursday and Friday and he always comes back really tired so it just goes to show he’s getting well exercised he loves going as soon as he hears the van pull up he’s going mental but he loves it 5 stars from me and as you can see from the picture he’s knackered

We would highly recommend walk in the bark to anyone. We have been looking for a dog walker for a while and we have definitely picked the best ones! Miranda and Ryan have been walking our dog for a few weeks now and they have managed to get him into group walks already which we didn’t think would be possible so soon as he is a nervous dog. Ryan and Miranda are fantastic! They absolutely love and care about dogs, and they're amazing with our dog Barry. We trust them completely. They take pride in their work, very reliable and they work with integrity (when we had the heatwave, they cancelled all walks and day care as they put the dogs' health and wellbeing before their own pockets). A walk in the Bark has been walking my reactive Jack Russell Mollie for around 6 months now and she’s come on leaps and bounds from a lurching, worried terrier to a happy and friendly little lady. So much so that I do think I’m no longer her favourite human and she much prefers the company of Miranda and Ryan. . I have a large and strong dog. He's a 7 year old Lurcher and a rescue, and when I first got him almost a year ago he came with lots of issues, one of which being his extreme reactivity to other dogs. When I was first looking for a dog walker I was worried that they would be reluctant to walk a large, strong, reactive dog, but Miranda didn't even bat an eyelid: she was more than happy to walk him and has been great! My pup has zero social skills and just does not know how to behave around other dogs, and so he lashes out. His aggression is founded in fear and anxiety though, and Miranda has been awesome in helping to expose him to other dogs and reduce his reactivity. Miranda started walking him with his muzzle, but now he is out on daily group walks, without his muzzle and having the most amazing time! My pup is now a totally different dog, and he is getting better and better on a daily basis. It makes me truly happy to see that he is starting to have doggy friends! It used to break my heart when he got excited by other dogs but just couldn't get close enough to play with them. I could not recommend Miranda enough! My dog loves going out on her play dates, she’s well looked after and thoroughly loved. Cookie can be a bit fussy with other dogs but Miranda realised straight away and teamed her with other dogs that where calm and wouldn’t fuss cookie to much. She posts videos of her walks, who she has with her and all the fun they have while out. I do not trust easy but after seeing how she was with a friends dog and then how great she was with cookie on our intro meeting It was easy to let her take her out. Hight recommend More...

Amazing 5*Better than I could have ever wished for, Miranda is one very special lady - she is like the dog whisperer of the North, she lives for dogs and her business, if you want an exceptional service and a very happy hound then this is the service you need to use. My girl has been with a walk in the bark for 5 months, my girl goes crazy to go out with Miranda and the pack, she loves it, always comes home very happy and tired. There is always videos or pics up of the walks so you can see your dog having fun.Miranda is very experienced with dogs, training and dog behaviour, naturally very caring lady, 100% reliable and flexible , great with communication and loves the dogs just as much as their owners do. Miranda first started to help me by carrying out Puppy Checks for Jeff (my Jack Russell pup) it was great to know that whilst I was at work Miranda would come in half way through the day and play with him and care for him. The two of them hit it off straight away. Now Jeff has graduated to pack walks which he LOVES! What do you love most about your job?
The best bit of my day has to be when i collect my dogs because i can see how happy they are to see me. I have quite a few rescue dogs who struggled with other dogs, but now they play and are confident as part of the pack walks this is amazing to see and gives my alot of job satisfaction, its wonderful to see a dog happy with a waggy tail.
What inspired you to start your own business?
My love for animals goes back to my childhood. I have always had animals mainly dogs but iv'e had reptiles, skinny pigs, hamsters, rabbits. You name it iv'e had it. Im the person who brings home a pigeon when it needed my help. i decided to start up myself after a few friends asking me to walk there dog. a year later we are still walking hand in paw with lots of extra friends.
Why should our clients choose you?
because i love dogs!! more than people if im honest.And they love me!! you can see what your pooch has been up to throughout the day through my videos on social media. Making friends and having fun. Group walks
We will collect your dog from your home and they will be walked with no more than 5 other dogs at a time.
Walk duration will be a 45 mins with collection and drop off outside of that that.
Solo Walks
A solo walk is a better option for those dogs who prefer their own company or are sometimes just a little nervous to be around their canine friends. Delivery and collection from home.
