I'm a huge fan of A Taste of Home - and its proprietors. Shrimp and grits to die for, delicious healthy(ish) collard greens, moist and tasty squash casserole, heavenly barbecue, and the best dessert in town - sweet potato dumplings. Don't miss it!

A big thanks to Yolunda Armstrong and Quinton Harrell from A Taste of Home Southern Cuisine in Charlottesville for catering @abarberwill and I with a dinner for two in one of our new spaces late last night! It was a tasty and welcomed treat for two very hard (and tired) workers. | salmon croquettes, black-eyed peas, sweet potato dumplings, cornbread & raspberry lemonade. nearly gone. | #trouble. | Working on bringing their food truck to @hisimagehaircville in the warmer months. We visited the food truck at the Hollymead Farmer's Market and will definitely be visiting again. The fried green tomatoes and the sweet potato dumplings were AMAZING! !! I had to call my mom, who has a major sweet tooth just like me, to tell her about the dumplings. She has already requested that I bring home a pan of the dumplings the next time I come. More...

Stopped for breakfast while waiting for my wife who was at the hospital across the street. Country ham, egg, and cheese biscuit was delicious. The atmosphere was great and the staff was nice enough to let me hang out until her procedure was finished. Looks like a nice hotel. I'd love to stay there sometime. More...

The Graduate is conveniently located near UVA, many restaurants, shops, and bars. Parking is valet only. Superficially, the hotel looks great, but as you exit the lobby you quickly notice its age and lack of upkeep. Older looking carpet and damage to the walls and doors give it an unkempt air. However, my room was clean and comfortable. It was equipped with a safe and mini fridge, but no hair dryer. I was surprised by how quiet it was and sincerely appreciate the check-in person giving me a room with a view. The rooftop bar is really nice and the drinks reasonably priced. All the staff, from the reception desk to the housekeepers and valets, were very friendly and helpful. More...

Very cozy hotel. Staff seemed a bit in a hurry a lot of the time but other than that they were very nice. The restaurant upstairs was awesome. Literally the best wings. They have a neat game room too, cozy reading tables. I'd love to spend time reading there. Definitely recommend. More...

Beautiful rooms, within a block of campus. Friendly staff and great food. One of the cutest hotels I've ever been to. Even the valet was extraordinary.

The staff are fantastic!! The room was clean and comfortable but very small. We had a double queen suite, the beds were very comfy and the linens were nice. The bathroom was clean, but had no room to sit anything. Definitely a nice hotel but if you need lots of room maybe get a bigger suite. The valet parking is a must because parking is limited. Cafe has good coffee, nice quiet ambiance, and a solid outdoor patio on The Corner. This is also the hotel I recommend to friends visiting Charlottesville. Nice rooms, a cafe in lobby, and a solid rooftop restaurant/bar. More...

Wow, I was truly blown away by the price and the style of this hotel. It is definitely one of the most interesting properties i have ever stayed in. They manage to perfectly blend modern amenities/features with a traditional, vintage look.

The service is fantastic, from the valet to the barista. The location is prime, with the free bike rental allowing you to get anywhere you'd like. The lounge and game room was an awesome spot to relax for a bit, with great views from the terrace seating. The room was interesting, and definitely had a feeling of age to it, but by no means did it feel unclean.

Overall, this is one of my favorite hotels, and my favorite so far in the Charlottesville area. I will definitely be returning!

I really enjoyed my stay at the Graduate. The hotel is very nicely appointed, has all of the amenities I would need for an overnight business or pleasure stay. 8 arrived on Christmas eve eve and the hotel, as well as the whole area as it is literally on UVA's campus was rather deserted. There is a full service coffee shop/bar in the lobby that is comfy and reasonably priced. The rooms, and the hotel, are very kitschy and themed to follow the whole university theme well. More...
