Brian took on building a supporting wall in our garden in Beccles. A tricky job that nobody else would even consider. Site access was a major issue, materials could only be delivered 40 yds above the site and then moved by hand down a narrow flight of steps. Rubble was placed in a skip further down the steps 50 yds away. It was hard physical work, done with a smile. The finished wall looks great, the site has been left clean and tidy and he even replaced the top soil in the garden, so all we had to do is re-plant it. Brian Lansdale repaired one of our 4 pot chimney stacks that was letting in rainwater while we were away on holiday. The repair was carried out professionally, quickly and with minimum mess and disruption. Brian opened up an old chimney for me, it was not a straightforward job as we did not know what we would find. After a test drill we decided to go ahead and open it up and it turned out to be full of old rubble and Brian did not give up to remove awkward sections which would not fall out. He stayed calm and thought logically to sort the problem. There was obviously a lot of mess which Brian was very apologetic about and cleaned up thoroughly after it was finished. While doing some other building work, a problem was found with our chimney. Brian was brilliant, fitted us in to do the job really quickly. He rebuilt the chimney outside, sorted out the flashing where there had been a leak. He kept me informed each day about what was being done, and even took pictures to show me (so I didn't have to climb the scaffold!). He cleaned up afterwards and I was really pleased with the all round work and the cost. We found Brian Lansdale to be efficient, friendly and trustworthy. Our chimney needing repointing and we had some broken bricks and eroded mortarto replace elsewhere. He gave us an cost estimate and a date when he would begin. Both sounded reasonable so we asked him to go ahead.Brian duly arrived, but soon informed me that the chimney was a little worse than he'd first envisaged and invited me to climb the scaffolding have a look.I was quite happy to do so and saw this was indeed true. "Not to worry" he said, "It'll just take me a little longer".Once the chimney was completed, Brian moved onto the other brickwork repairs. He returned on the second day and completed the task.The extra chimney work naturally involved a small increase in cost which again we thought very reasonable.We were very satisfied with his work and would happily recommend him to others! I highly recommend Mr.Lansdale for his excellent work that he did recently on our chimney. We have been wanting to get a wood burner for almost a year but due to limited chimney space no body could do it. . The chimney space had some wood between the walls making the job difficult. I found Brian on Internet and contacted him. He kindly took up the job after an initial survey. He liased with wood burner installer and made a thorough survey before starting the work. It took atleast 3 visits for surveying. He made sure it was safe before knocking any walls down. He is flexible with times and managed to allocate time for us in his busy schedule. He knocked some walls down and removed all the wood from the old chimney space. He did the job with minimal/no disruption. Took all the rubble away.
