A delight of France has revamped it's decor, so now the setting is every bit as delectable as the food. Thank you Gracie and Alberta for the sweet winter wonderland that you've created which makes A Delight of France so welcoming! To be honest, it kind of lacked a feeling of warmth and of intimacy before, but Gracie and Alberta have transformed it beautifully. Now I feel inclined to stay at the bakery and enjoy the lovely ambiance and delicious offerings instead of just purchasing a takeout order to go. Gracie is a lovely young lady who goes the extra mile to present your dinner professionally, and she is the epitome of gracious hospitality in a restaurant setting. Years ago I professionally trained the wait staff for a pavilion at a World Exposition to be exemplary in their customer service. It is in that spirit that I applaud Gracie as she has that wonderful and rare drive to exceed an employer's and client's expectations that will serve her in whatever capacity and career she may decide to embrace in the future. I do hope that the owner of A Delight of France appreciates what an amazing employee they have in Gracie, I know that I do! My favorite thing about this place is the freshness in every item! My husband introduced me to A Delight of France when we just started dating, and almost every Saturday that was our breakfast spot! We CATERED A Delight of France for our WEDDING and this was the best hire of that day! They did an spectacular job with all the food, decorations on the food table, service, and everything. But, my real favorite thing about this place is the people! Alberta, Sako and Grace, are the family that owns this place, and they are truly the heart of the restaurant! A true neighborhood gem! The decor is warm and inviting. This morning I appreciated the warm sunlight streaming through the window. Warmer days one can sit outside. The caffe latte was perfect. Hot, creamy and delicious.The French toast was amazing. Not drenched in batter. Perfectly cooked with a soft center but crispy on the outside. Served with syrup, whip cream and fruit. You can choose which topping you like with each bite (your toast is not drenched in any of the toppings). And dont forget the sliced almonds.Alongside the sweet was the savory. Eggs perfectly scrambled. Home potatoes. Be ready for some garlic in your morning- but they are delicious! 2 strips of crispy and flavorful bacon to match.Oh, and the pastries. How do you decide? Buche de Noel fit nicely in a to go box. This is my second time eating here in years, and the fourth star is merely added due to the taste of the crepê and promptness of the servers. Ultimately, however, I'd give it 3.5 stars.I want to love this place. But it's not living up to its full potential. I ordered a dirty Chai latte, and I received pumpkin spice. I didn't complain because I don't mind pumpkin spice. But if I'm paying for a Chai latte with espresso added, I kinda want my money's worth, especially if I'm tipping before I'm served. My boyfriend got an iced Mexican mocha. I swear, people who make drinks ought to taste it before they serve it. His iced beverage was a hot mess of milk and watered down espresso. Bitter and bland. No sweetness, but a hint of cinnamon. Cool. Next comes food. He had a berry crepê, and I had the breakfast one. The insides were incredibly moist and flavorful. But the presentation was dull and lacking. It needed a sauce or some sort of garnish to look the part. My boyfriend's plate looked great, so there's that at least. Crepê was very flavorful as well. The potatoes on mine were a bit dry and flavorless, but I really liked the texture. There definitely were spices, but they were very subtle. Salt and pepper fixed that, but I wish I didn't have to go that route.Desserts. Wanted one, but the flies that were either on the desserts or in the vicinity turned me off immediately.Every town needs a French restaurant, but this one needs to step it up. This place is a gem! Found it during cruising grand and we will definitely be back. First thing, our service was excellent. We were promptly seated an brought bread with oil/vinegar and waters. Our waitress was quick and attentive and very sweet. As for the food, the menu is fairly short but absolutely delicious. We both had the French onion soup which had a nice thick layer of Cheese on top which was fantastic. I had the chicken Alfredo and it was the best Alfredo sauce I've ever had, my partner had the French dip and loved it, it was served with horseradish and fancy mustard with pickles.Great food, great service, and great prices. My favorite pastry shop around, no contest. This place can get pretty packed, pretty early and that's the reason. It is definitely on the pricey side, but if you like a good almond croissant or strawberry tart this place is more than worth it.

I wish I could give this place more than 5 stars! This place is amazing, a must when going out for breakfast or lunch in Escondido/San Diego. The staff is super sweet and they provide great prompt service. And the food was really fast and really delicious. It's a order at the counter and sit down type place, but once they drop off your food they continue to check up on you and make sure you are happy. The owner or manager, a super sweet lady with long black hair, came over to our table to chat and give us recommendations and give my baby nephew fruit to munch on.
