How do you help your clients achieve their fitness goals?
I start with the client right where they are. This means I first sit down and talk with them to get an idea of their concerns and goals and create a plan to achieve their goals. I will not push a client to go beyond where they are willing to go, but I encourage a client to keep working to get a step closer to their goals. I keep an eye on their goals, document their achievements so they see how far they have come. We never lose sight of those goals. Sometimes goals change--sometimes they need to change and that's ok. Ultimately the client is in charge of that, but I'm there to help facilitate and encourage my clients toward the goals they set for themselves.
What do you love most about your job?
First, I love working with people but especially I love being able to see the potential that they can't see, and then walking with them to reach that potential. Clients are often surprised at what they are able to accomplish and I get a kick out of surprising them.
What inspired you to start your own business?
I was inspired to start my own business after spending time in a corporate setting at a desk job. While I spent time keeping fit, when you work 8-10 hour days at a desk it can take it's toll. I watched while my co-workers allowed themselves to get out of shape, not prioritizing time for their own health. I wanted to help them not just get fit, but to become enthusiastic about what a fit and healthy lifestyle could do for them. I wanted this to be what I invested my time in.
Why should our clients choose you?
Clients should choose me only after me with me, of course. This is crucial because you need to make a connection in some way with your trainer since you will be spending a few hours each week with them.
Beyond that connection, it's important for potential clients to know that I really care about their health. For me, losing the weight is important, but there is so much more to fitness and health than just dropping the weight. I strive to teach this and I strive to infill an enthusiasm and curiosity for health in my clients.
For my corrective exercise clients, it's important to know that I am a learner, constantly reading and studying about how the body works and how to help my clients with their specific needs. I have five years experience working with clients who have struggled with shoulder, hip and knee issues, feet and ankles issues and much more. I'm certified in corrective exercise and I have mentored with a 25-year veteran of corrective exercise, drawing as much as I could from her.

This is a fully clothed massage done on a special mat on the floor. As the practitioner, I will move you through a series of stretches while you remain passive. As I stretch you, I also massage the stretched muscles. People have described this massage as "yoga being done to you".
