I've been attending 7 Rays Holistic Center's Women's Circle Meditations for over a year. Hemla is an excellent instructor, welcoming and warm, she makes both newcomers and veteran visitors alike feel comfortable and at ease. I've enjoyed the meditations tremendously, not just in the moment, or shortly after the session, but continue to come back to the thoughts, feelings, and observations discovered and discussed throughout the session for weeks and sometimes months later. I appreciate having discovered 7 Rays Holistic Center on Yelp only to realize I'd met Hemla once before. To be honest, I had very little idea how color and energy impacted our psyche, though I suspected my lifelong desire to be recognized as an accomplished creative, and my personal obsession with sifting through colors (in the form of artist palettes) had some underlying current to my identity and perception of the world. Most therapists will not even broach the subject of intuition or creativity, often discarding these traits as "diagnosis of such and such disorder" which need taming and sedation. Sadly, we live in a helicopter-parenting community, and knowing Hemla's in this neighborhood is a breath of fresh air.Hemla is incredibly kind, intuitive, and gifted in helping clients identify their core essence, find clarity, and identify the root cause of their mental and emotional blocks. Hemla's approach is spiritual and open-minded; she is compassionate and non-judgemental. Contrary to conventional methods of therapy and coaching, Hemla's sessions are part conversation and part spiritual uncovery. Hemla has been immensely helpful to me during the past year since I've been in Palo Alto.  She has an excellent toolbox of spiritual therapies and good old talking that works well for me.  As with most good counselors/therapists I have experienced, the effects of a session don't always immediately reveal themselves, but I typically feel better when I leave - validated but at the same time with a plan of action.  The biggest thing I am working on is the ability to challenge my automatic/ingrained reactions to things, which involves releasing negativity and understanding that it does not define me.  Hemla continues to help with this process, which may be lifelong, but I can see measurable improvement.  This has helped with my relationship to my wife and children as well - rather than cast them as trying to undermine me or rain on my parade, I have a much better understanding of their own struggles, but more importantly, a better insight into the underlying love that can bring us all together.  My next step with Hemla will be to look at my family throughout generations and lifetimes, which should help me take the next step in breaking the chain of underlying negativity but also embracing the positive.  Highly recommend. Hemla is a uniquely skilled healer. Rather than offering just one or two methodologies, she has accumulated a wealth of knowledge in a variety of energy healing techniques, so that she has a multitude of tools from which to draw when assessing the method best suited to a particular client’s needs in any given session. I have been particularly amazed by her color therapy technique, which she has adapted, refined and perfected into her own unique form. At each session, the meaning of each color I’ve chosen has reflected with uncanny accuracy a present situation, emotion, and/or need. I came across Hemla's profile on Yelp when I finally decided to start my healing journey. The first time I met her, I didn't have any doubt that I made the right decision to reach out to her. For the first time, I met someone who is very compassionate, accepting, and non-judgmental. For the first time, someone is there to finally listen and allow me to be my true self - no filters, no facade, no pretentions - and it's liberating. I started to see her on a weekly basis and slowly, I have started to love and accept myself. Hemla has also been a great instrument for me to understand and accept my past and all the pain I went through; and forgive those who have caused it. Hemla continues to help me be comfortable and embrace the person that I am. She reminds me that I have strengths, which I should use for a greater purpose. I have been working with Hemla for five years with raiki, colour therapy, regression, family constellation crystal therapy and energy work. I feel so lucky to have found Hemla at 7 Rays Holistic Center in Palo Alto!!! She is incredibly generous with her time, knowledge, and insights. I learned so much in her class and was blown away by the accuracy of her color readings and the insights that followed. Hemla is the real deal!  I had a color therapy session with her at East West Bookstore as an experiment (as I was actually more interested in her other therapies listed on her 7 rays website) but I was totally blown away by the modality, her insights, and her warmth. I have since then had a Constellation therapy session (highly recommend if you have generational trauma to clear-and who doesn't?) and the results have been nothing short of amazing. Working with Hemla has been a life changing event for me. I have done over 6 sessions with her and I am seeing very significant change in all aspects of my psycho-emotional life. Hemla has also been hugely helpful in helping me to heal a serious health issue. I started going to Hemla over a year ago and she has helped me make some major changes. She has given me confidence, and helped me tap into my own strength. There are many times when, without her expertise, understanding and kindness, I would not have gotten through situations as well.  She was with me and my dog when she became very ill.
