I established 52 Fitness in 2010 to bring my working
life together with my knowledge and passion for sports and training.
I specialise in one to one training, coaching Olympic weightlifting, and running. As an all-rounder in my sporting life, I'm dedicated to bringing knowledge to my clients to promote healthy living, strength, and enjoyment both in the gym and everyday life.
52 Fitness programmes focus on safe and effective lifting technique specific to your goals. If you're new to the gym or lifting weights, you'll learn to engage your muscles in a way that promotes strength gains and protects you from injury, keeping you active 52 weeks a year. For more experienced gym-goers or athletes, I can help you find the adjustments in your technique or programming to continually chase down your goals.

52 Fitness Q&A
How do you help your clients achieve their fitness goals?
I consider it extremely important that my clients to do what they need to do when I'm not there, so I like to teach the basics really well, build confidence, and set realistic targets for weekly or monthly improvements. The key is often helping a client to realise that it's them that's doing the hard work and that their belief should lie in their ability to reach their goal.
My sessions are planned with progressions built in so that we're always trying to find a way to improve. That doesn't necessarily mean that every session is harder than the one that preceded it, but there will be one thing you do better that day than you have before. Little goals on the way to that big goal.
What’s the secret to getting the body of your dreams?
For me, it should be understanding that the body of your dreams is an injury-free, well-performing, healthy body. We all want our bodies to look great, but there are so many different ideas of what this is, and not all of them are particular healthy.
If I eat well, sleep well, exercise for health, and be positive about and to myself, I think I'll feel like I have the body of my dreams when I'm still kicking it at 90.
What do you love most about your job?
I love that in a 10 hour work day I can meet 10 completely unique individuals who tell me silly stories, impress me with their effort, challenge me with their desire to learn more, and leave our session feeling great about themselves.
What inspired you to start your own business?
There wasn't a single person that inspired me to actually do it, but the challenge of doing this for myself was completely new and felt more rewarding than the career I had started. My old work and this new personal training career existed side by side for a couple of years, and I have been inspired by all the hard working freelancers and self employed people I have met during that time. There are more people than I'd ever realised taking the risk of not necessarily having a steady wage, and their hard work has always impressed me.
Why should our clients choose you?
Clients should choose me because of my experience, my outlook, and my promise that you will learn things that will help with your health goals for the rest of your life.
