I used a 10 session block to kickstart me back into exercise having been knocked off my usual routine by the pandemic. Having a regular weekly time in the diary really helped me get my mind back into exercise and healthy eating. I lost around 5kg of lockdown weight over the course of our sessions which I was really happy with. Gav was great to work with and created a relaxed, friendly environment whilst ensuring sessions were challenging and motivating. Although I do a lot of running, my GP advised me that "at your age" you should also be doing some strength and resistance work.
I was looking for a PT that worked with me, not against me, and as no longer a youngster I did not want some sort of 'boot camp'. I have held a weekly session with Gav for the past six months and have seen visible improvements in tone and muscle but perhaps more importantly an increase in my energy levels.
Shifting half a tone of compost at my allotment in one morning recently was completed without feeling exhausted either during or afterwards.
My sessions with Gavin are hard work (that's what I expect) but done in a constructive and gently encouraging way that focusses as much on form and technique as well as actual weights shifted.
I am very satisfied with what Gavin has helped me achieve so far.

Gav’s training sessions are pitched perfectly for us. My wife and I aren’t the most natural or enthusiastic exercisers but we knew we needed to get into a better, healthier routine, motivated by someone who would push us without getting all sergeant-major-like.
We also wanted the sessions to be fun, a weekly date in our diary that we’d actually look forward to – and, yes, they genuinely are.
Our training programme has been carefully devised to suit our personal needs – taking into account our ages, our lifestyles, our fitness levels, our goals, any injuries etc. It's a long way from the one-size-fits-all approach you often encounter elsewhere.
If you're looking to shape up (particularly if, like us, you're in a somewhat more, erm, senior age bracket), we can’t imagine a better motivator.
We've been with Gav now for the best part of a year and feel fitter and more energised than we’ve felt in ages.

The training is excellent. I have never done a zoom class before but would recommend Gav's. The notification comes 30 mins before so plenty of time to sort yourself out.
A recording is sent either the same day or the next day allowing you to catch up, if you've missed a session, or do an extra session if you want to!! Each exercise is clearly explained and often there are a number of alternatives catering for individual's ability. I have tried following videos in the past but usually give up before the end. Having Gav leading the session helps keep me going to the end.
Gav telephones you before you start the course to discuss it and offers nutritional advice. He also publishes articles on his website.
What I particularly like is he never tries to sell you anything other than the next session. These are Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 2pm.

It has changed my life, I'm 66 and fitter than I've been in a long time, the classes are enjoyable and work, I live in a second story flat and some days found it hard to get up the stairs, now I find it easier, even carrying my shopping up isn't a chore any more, I'm going out for longer walks with out getting tired. I have been participating in Gavin's online 3x a week HIIT classes for about 9 weeks now and I can't believe how much fitter and leaner I feel. All my back aches and knee twinges have also disappeared! Gavin is absolutely great, he varies the routines and explains modifications to the exercises so you never feel like you can't do something. He is also upbeat and very personable so it is a pleasure to spend time with him. I have rated 3Fs Personal Training highly since Gav's presentation, patience , preparation and follow-up are excellent. The pace and scope of each session have been tailored to meet the demands and challenges of us senior members of society. Gav explains the safe approach to each exercise and provides various options to successfully tackle it; these range from the less taxing to the more strenuous. I have now been attending his free tri-weekly session for 10 weeks now and the benefits, both mentally and physically, have been beyond my expectations. Each class is delivered at the right pace. Every session commences with a warm-up and is closed by a cool down in order to avoid injury and muscle soreness. In addition, each session is recorded and sent via email to you should you wish to repeat the session. This recording is just of Gav demonstrating each exercise so there's no need to feel self-conscious about you being recorded. If you have never tried a HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training) session then I highly recommend you give these training session a go and come and join us. How do you help your clients achieve their fitness goals?
I start by investing in a complimentary health and fitness consultation to understand your current level of health and fitness. I then take time to understand your goals; weight loss, tone and cardio fitness, increase muscle mass, beach body fitness, special event such as your wedding day. I will then beginning the process of designing a bespoke training programme, that will set some SMART goals. SMART simple means; S - Specific, M - Measurable, A - Achieveable, R - Realistic, T - Timeframed.

What inspired you to start your own business?
My lifetime passion for keeping fit, led me naturally to retraining for this career, gaining a Level 3 Diploma in Gym Instructing and Personal Training at YMCAfit in London. I love sharing the benefits of an active and healthy lifestyle. There is no greater reward than seeing each of my clients moving forward and achieving their individual goals.

I had 3 or 4 injuries that had been preventing me from doing too much at all. Gav was very thorough and spoke with my physio before he would work with me so that he knew exactly what he was dealing with. We then started slowly and cautiously and it wasn't long before my confidence and my strength were growing. I was struggling to feel motivated and thought what might make it worse was if someone came and started shouting at me (like some reality TV trainer). However, Gav is extremely encouraging, motivating and helpful without needing to do that! He brings a fresh workout sheet each week and leaves me with a post workout feedback sheet to keep a check on injuries. I highly recommend him!

Gavin is absolutely brilliant
Gavin is absolutely brilliant. He really knows what he’s doing and has been central to my return to fitness. It had been a long while since I had done any formal exercise and he built a programme that reflected that. He is incredibly knowledgeable but makes it all accessible. I like the variety in the sessions - we mix things up with different pieces of equipment and changes in emphasis. And he’s a genuine and very pleasant person to be with. Yes, I provide online personal training using Zoom. Currently around 60% of my clients train solely online with me. I'm looking to increase this significantly.
What changes have you made to keep your customers safe from Covid-19?
All kit is sanitised before and after use. I observe social distancing and will wear a face mask outdoors if requested. The majority of my clients train with me online as this the safest way.
