It's a family run business and remarkably has been around for 18 year with neither my sister or myself knowing about this establishment tucked in the back of the jewellery quarter. Parking was free after 6pm and it seats are 30. There were 16 of us in our party and we had a set menu so that it could be catered for prior to our arrival. There is a normal menu that you can also choose from. The starter was a platter - saltfish pattie, dumpling, chicken wing & curried pattie - you had some of everything Main - curried goat, oxtail, saltfish & ackee plus spicy chicken with plain rice or rice and peas - you had some of everything.Desserts - There were loads of different cakes with cream and ice cream or rum shot - I had pavlova. The rum punch was so tasty which i had with an extra shot of rum plus i also had a red stripe. Our party couldn't have been made more welcome. The food and drinks bills were paid for seperately, as you can imagine it can become quite fiddly trying to work out 16 different drink bills so they are put in groups of 2 - 4 with an print out of each drink for ease of payment per group. I would highly recommend paying a visit to 24 Carat Bistro x More...

Lovely friendly little bistro tucked away down an alley, behind another shop. Menu has a nice varied choice , fair prices. Old surroundings. We enjoyed our meals very much. There is a Toilet which is seperate, it's very low for anyone with mobility problems. It has a large step up & a light that turns it's self off at most awarkward times. More...

Had the most wonderful time at 24 carot bistro. It was a lovely way to celebrate a 60th. The interior was cosy and intimate. The food was stunning visually and had great flavour. Shout out to the chef and his helper. The music was spot on and we even got up to dance. The host Jan is lovely, friendly and couldn't do enough to make sure that every one was happy. Even though we had a large group the care and attention to detail was there. I would definetly recommend 24 carot to anyone whether you want a intimate function or just a meal you won't be disappointed. More...

Absolutely fantastic. The cafe is small, but the atmosphere and lighting is brilliant, the smell as you walk in is guaranteed to keep you staying for the food alone. The staff are wonderful and helpful. To say that the food is how my mother would do it, particularly the braised oxtail, is not an understatement, and is testament to how extraordinary this place is. Couldn't recommend it better. More...

Awesome little place. Called in today whilst taking a break from looking for wedding rings.
Small place but good honest food that's been well cooked and good portions .
Kids enjoyed all of their food and my Mrs was getting weak at the knees with her Faggots and peas and mash. I settled for lamb and coriander burger and as good as it was, I got plate envy of the couple next to us. Their curried goat looked fit!!!
Also had the deserts of peanut butter brownie, blondie and marshmallows and plain choc brownie at our table. And all were superb, only downfall was that mine wasn't never ending, could have have easily subdued to a dose of diabetes for another slice or ten. And talk about sugar treats the hot chocolate the kids had was immense. The staff were great, friendly and was obvious they love what they are doing, as comes through with their food and service.
Well done guys credit to you.
Shame I don't frequent the jewellery quarter often, but may be pushed to bigamy and find a second wife, just to find a excuse to go up there ring shopping, then I can go and have a crack at that curried goat.

If you're in the jewellery quarter and you don't go to 24 Carat Bistro, you're missing out! The jerk chicken is to die for and they have a sticky toffee pudding that is better than anything you can get in a chain restaurant.
I only ever have the jerk chicken (as you can't get it better anywhere else) but a vegetarian friend of mine loves it here too so the menu is definitely veggie friendly. The staff are always so friendly and are happy to offer advice on the local jewellers if you're new to the JQ and feel overwhelmed by the choices. Last time I visited, the lovely lady working there even came outside with us to point out and direct us to some places she would recommend! I also had my 5 week old baby with me and when she woke up just as the food arrived, the lady immediately offered to keep it warm in the kitchen for me so I could feed the baby first without my food going cold. It's the little touches that make it feel like you're visiting friends rather than just a bistro and it's that personal service that keeps bringing me back.
It's hidden away and I first heard about it from a friend of mine, who had it recommended to her by someone else. It's one of those places you'll want to tell everyone about and it feels like you're letting people in on this amazing little secret restaurant.
