After hearing many good reviews we chose Dave as our wedding photographer and he was brilliant from the off! Kept it contact in the run up too the wedding and introduced himself and went through with us any pictures we wanted etc! And on the day it was very relaxed! Nothing was too much trouble! If you're thinking of booking Dave as your photographer then all I can say is do it! His portfolio speaks for itself, it is clear he is an incredible photographer but he is also a really great guy! Meeting him before our wedding really put my husband and I at ease. Then on the day it was like having a friend taking photos. Dave recently did our photos for our wedding and I can honestly say I am absolutely over the moon with our pictures. I was very specific in not wanting a lot of staged photos, instead having lots of natural ones of people enjoying themselves in the moment, and Wow, did he deliver! Dave seemed to manage to capture every funny, happy, emotional and amazing moment of the day while barely being noticeable and offered guidance and encouragement without being pushy. David was the photographer for our wedding day at Tickton Grange on Sunday 1 July 2018. He has a great down to earth approach and delivered over 280 digital images within two weeks of the event. He captured some great informal shots as well as the main images of the day. He has a great eye and produced some unique and individual compositions. Both myself and my partner were becoming bored of taking the usual photos and selfies and decided to get a photographer to take some decent pictures of the pair of us. We decided to use Dave at 2point8 studios and I can truly say we have been completely amazed with the full service we have received. We decided we would like some photos to be taken at the lighthouse and surrounding areas at Flamborough, East Yorkshire. We informed Dave we had picked this location so roughly 2 weeks prior to our photo shoot Dave went to the location to ascertain the best camera angles and back drops in his own time and at no extra cost. Upon arriving at location this morning Dave remained professional at all time with his attention to detail being second to none. We spent 2 hours on location to ensure he got the best shots possible, every minute of which was a pleasure. He wasn’t afraid to direct us how to stand and pose and he also did not mind being stood in the sea or laid on his front in the wet sand just to get the best shots! His knowledge and understanding of photography is impeccable. If you’re looking for a friendly reliable service witch is also cost effective then look no further Dave at 2point8 studios is all you need, both myself and my partner can’t wait to see the finished results. What’s the secret to taking a great photograph?
Getting to know the client a little always helps. Good equipment also has its advantages, the lighting and composition is also key
What questions might you ask a client when starting a new project?
The date is the most important.. just to check availability. Where is also important to be able to an idea of cost.
What do you love most about your job?
Meeting new people. I also love the idea of being able to express myself through my photography.
What inspired you to start your own business?
The idea of creating something and having the freedom to express myself through my work.
