Hands down one of the chillest venues in downtown SF to meet up with friends after work! The venue has a lot of space, high ceilings, great ambience from all the cool local art, and pretty good drinks. My favorite is really Michelle and Alex who manages large events at Minna Gallery, they're friendly, very easy to work with, and is super fast with their turnaround! Organized a nonprofit event here with them and will do it again. More...

This is a great after work/happy hour space. It's not plagued by the usual crush of people into a confined space that one typically encounters in SOMA watering holes. It can get very busy and seating at high top table is at premium. More...

I love this place. The people make it. The art on the walls is always fascinating and worth my attention, but I never regret sitting down with a stranger here and having a conversation. I do it regularly, but here the conversations last. I don't ever get to spend sufficient time there. My only complaint. More...

Minna Gallery is a perfect place to celebrate with dear friends near the Salesforce towers. A Chill place to hold corporate events and enjoy art while dining. We celebrated our Kqed Scavenger Hunt to get acquainted with our coworkers and new neighborhood along Beale St. We searched far and wide for clues to complete different challenges. The gourmet pizza, cheese, fresh fruits, and other side dishes were delicious! I enjoyed the Mezcol and French 75 Cocktail! Our 1st visit was an awesome experience!  This cool art gallery and dining location made us all feel comfortable and left the area like champions! More...

Beautiful gallery! I came here for an alumni event for my university and it was a great space to mingle and have a drink. They have a full bar so they can get any drink that you want and they host a lot of events. If you need an event space this place is great! The staff was friendly and very attentive. There one staff member who was assigned to us was so great! She always was asking if we needed another drink or if there was anything she could do to help. The art in the gallery is really beautiful! They have these two large wooden horses that were really cool. I honestly don't understand how the artist made them but definitely go take a look! They are up on the stage, which I assume you could book for like a small concert or something. Next time I need to plan an event that requires a venue, I'm choosing this place! More...

The other other OTHER local watering hole in the area. Whether you're planning someone's birthday party, promotion, or even going away party, this place has it all!.It's the perfect place on the edge of FiDi to enjoy a nice cold beverage while enjoying the art gallery of local artists. The great thing about 111 Minna is that it's not super upscale, but it's also not the local pub.  There are many tables and couches that are available for reservations, but you just have to call or email them ahead of time....and the best part is that there is no minimum spend! You can also get one of the better Moscow mules in the area, served properly in a copper mug. If you get hungry after pondering at the beautiful pieces of art and drinking Moscow mules, there are a few restaurants across the street such as Capt Eddie Rickenbackers and Jersey Pizza! More...

We threw our holiday party here and had such a fun time! Michelle and Jen are great event managers and make sure everything goes well from start to finish. We were able to rent out one half of the space (smaller company) and it was the perfect size. I felt the options available for the contract were right on point with what we wanted.During the event they allow the host (myself in this situation) to enjoy the event and not have to do much other than answer questions (thank you, more champagne please). If you're looking for a great spot to host your event, large or small, this place is it! Went here on Saturday night for my first time and loved the old school hip hop music. Took me back to high school days....I guess I just dated myself. Anyways....music is cool and bathrooms clean. The bar thou. .....well they are limited to what they can make. I asked for a hurricane and got some super weak weird tasting drink, then later had a long island in the 2nd room cuz they couldn't make a hurricane, and It tasted like a Margarita. ....little weird if you ask me. All in all, good time thou. I'd go back, even thou I felt like the old one in the room. :) More...

Spacious venue. Surrounded by great bites & restaurants locally i.e., Salt, Roy's, Osha Thai, sushi, Thirsty Bear, W Hotel, sandwiches, etc. Love this area of SF (SOMA), decent metered parking after hours - read signs carefully. I was here a couple of times attending my designer friend's fashion line INLUSH (hand-painted silk dresses). Each time, it was a fabulous experience with a diverse crowd of friendly people. Interesting classes at relatively affordable prices. For portraits and figure drawing, i recommend Bob Horn. He knows his stuff and teaches pretty well. For digital arts, i recommend 111 Minna Gallery. I like it when instructors fill each 3 hour session with many new tips and practice sessions and both of them do that. I go here every so often to get coffee in the morning when I don't feel like making it in my office. Each time it is great and exciting to visit.I usually get a hot regular coffee or a cold brew coffee, each time tasting good! There is sometimes a long line, but usually because of the typical morning coffee run. Longest I have had to wait is 5 minutes or less. The thing I always am intrigued by is what paintings and artwork will be up. Each time I tend to go they have changed the art and I always take a few minutes to examine each painting with my coffee in hand. I have also gone here for happy hour a few times after work and they have great deals on beers. It tends to get really bust around 5 or 5:30 though, so keep that in mind. The service is always great and I have never had an issue with any of the employees. I will always be coming back when I need a coffee! More...

111 Minna is fantastic. The people who work here are super friendly and warm, and they make the most perfect latte you've ever had (I'm so sorry, Cento. You're a close #2), the almond milk latte's that the staff here makes are my favorite drink anywhere, period. There's always interesting art, and at night they are an awesome bar, with equally awesome late-night drinks, but most importantly, this place just has a super relaxed, down-to-earth atmosphere, and it really is a special little spot. Came here for happy hour and loved everything about Minna Gallery. At first when we received a text from a friend who's a SF local to meet them up there I was like...huh, drinks at an art gallery? That's so posh I hope it's not pretentious. I was surprise to see many eclectic folks so I didn't feel out of place at all (since we were being tourist all day and in jeans and sneakers). The space is open with lots of room to stand and mingle as well as some seating. I believe there were at least two bars which made ordering a breeze without having to bump elbows. The art gallery itself is wonderful with many interesting pieces. I loved the concept of incorporating an art gallery and bar, the vibe was great. For happy hour it wasn't too busy but had a good crowd. Loved the simple yet elegant cocktail menu. I'm a huge fan of French 75 and they did a little twist and offered an Italian 75 switching up champagne for prosecco. Nice. More...

This gallery has a nice set of revolving art and some permanent installation pieces. The integration to the bar(s) and coffee pop up (red door, serving Four Barrel) is a trendy and popular place to visit. For coffee: Come before 8:30am to find shorter lines and more time to enjoy the artistic ambience. If you are in need of coffee, you can search for the link to their current webcam and see the size of the line and insure you can get your coffee, toast, or donuts without delay. In the evening: The venue is often reserved for private events and not open to the public. Do not be dissuaded. Come back when it is open and you will find two well stocked bars. This is a favored happy hour spot in this neighborhood. More...

Old School. One of the originals. I can't believe you guys are still putting on Qool! I went to my first Qool I think in 1992 and you're still keeping it real. I love that Minna keeps things changing while keeping it the same. ;-) New art, new events, and always chill and happy. I threw a holiday party here in 2006 for a corporate RE office. Roy's catered. Minna threw down...they helped set it up (free), they dj'd, they went shopping for premium sake and set up a sake bar for us. Thanks Minna. I hope you're still here when I'm 80. More...

Yep, this place does it for me. 90s night spinning all of my favorite songs all night?! Hell yea. For a $5 cover it was worth it. Drinks are reasonable and strong. Dance floor is big enough to where you can dance without having to booty bump another group.Later on in the night they also open the other half of the gallery to another dance room/DJ. Both play similar music. If you don't like what one DJ is playing, then you can just quickly walk your way to the other side! More...

This is a really cool bar. I've been working in the area for two years, but only started coming here in the last few months. It is more like a coffee shop during the day but at night it's a spacious arty bar. And by arty I don't mean the vibe. It's also an art gallery. They have happy hour every day from 3 with $2 off drinks. They have the usual beer selection, decent wine choice and some good cocktails. There is also a smaller bar at the back. Good for team happy hours and a good place to go if you are fed up of the other dive bars in the area. More...

111 Minna Gallery is gallery and a club, which I thought was a really cool set up. When you enter, you'll walk into to a big open space with a bar, artwork and cool seating areas. The venue is split up down the middle, so you'll find people casually chilling at the bar or at the tables having conversations or on their laptops. I would encourage you to take a look at some of their artwork because every few months or so, new artists contribute to their gallery and so their exhibits rotate throughout the seasons. This gallery is pretty easy to find because the name of the club is the address and you'll spot a huge mural painted across the street from it. I heard it gets pretty nuts when they have private events and parties going on, so when I'm in town again, I definitely plan on going back! More...

I've been coming here for YEARS attending their 90's hip hop night. The DJ's are a hit or miss, but when it is a HIT, it. is. LIT. I'll never forget DJ Lean Rock spinning there one night. THAT was Hip Hop in it's purest form.Cool thing about this place is that it has two rooms, so you can choose which DJ tickles your ears. if you come here for drinks, I suggest maybe drinking prior since it can be a little pricey here. The cover varies depending on who is spinning. I honestly don't mind it because for one, it filters out the scumbags who just get in for free and just want to go "hunting." At these parties it's pretty good ratio of a diverse crowd. There has definitely been more nights where there was WAY more women than men. It was a little over whelming. I've taken many, many dates here and each one of them enjoyed every single minute of it. There's a fair amount of "dancers" that if they are in a good mood, they will put on a show for you. Usually in the summer, these events can get pretty hype. If you don't like lines I definitely suggest coming pretty early to get in. Besides that, I have been to 111 Minna for brunch and coffee. It was actually a big switch for me since it was pretty recent. The energy was soothing, you can actually SEE the art, and their coffee was not bad at all! I wasn't disappointed at all. For what the venue is, it's simple, not too bougie, not too fancy. Just how I like it.Great for dates BECAUSE you can see if they have good or bad taste in music. More...

I've been to Minna Gallery for a couple of 90s nights for a fun time out with friends. I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a chill, enjoyable evening of dancing and drinks. It's in a great location of SF and has a lot to offer.First of all, the drinks are pretty good and strong for the price. I've gotten Cranberry Vodkas and Dirty Shirleys so far, but they have a full bar and specials. The best part about the venue is that there are two different sections to it. The dance floors are split into two different rooms, so if you don't like the music or vibe in one room you can move to the next. They have different djs and songs playing, which is great. The only bummer about the djs at Minna Gallery are that they tend to play a song for about 60 seconds...and then move onto the next without playing most of the song. Sometimes you want to hear and dance to all of the song they play! More...

Came here with a group of friends to check out an event they host every month and it was pretty fun. Every second Saturday of the month they host a 90's night with music ranging from hip hop, rap, pop, and dance. It really brought back some memories and songs that I haven't listened to for a while. When we first walked in it seemed a little small but then we noticed that it was only half of the area. They opened up the rest of the club/gallery about an hour after they started letting people inside. The decor was nice and the drinks very strong. They had art and paintings all over the club area and it was a nice setting. I think I'll definitely have to come back and visit the gallery during the day to get a better look at the paintings and sculptures. More...

A little bit of a hidden gem in FiDi for post-work happy hour gatherings! I've gone here during the day when it was the Red Door Cafe for some morning caffeine, but it never occurred to me to stop by after work for a different type of pick-me-up. When a coworker organized a casual happy hour here, I was totally down! Cocktail prices are standard SF costs (~$10-11). My favorite is the MINNA MULE because I love the combo of ginger beer and vodka. It was very refreshing! My coworkers liked the cheap draft beers ($4 only!).The interior is a nice casual, but hip vibe -- lots of art hanging on the walls and you place your drinks on wooden stumps. However, sound does echo a lot and I found it difficult to listen to my coworker talk who was right next to me. It was fairly easy to grab a table and seats for 6 ppl around 4:45/6PM on a Friday night. Things got busier later after 6PM. I'd come back again for a quick drink with friends/coworkers if I'm in the area. Cheers! More...

Used entire space for a private event for a game launch. I came in at the end of the planning and logistics, so I was the 10th voice they had to hear from. I wasnt too sure about being 'another' opinion on the books. Met with Mandy and knew right away that this event was going to be handled professionally. She was calm, actually heard the questions we had, and helped steer us to a more functional event with the multiple vendors we contracted. They pretty much knew all our vendors and contacted them separately to handle logistics. Mandy, Michelle and crew were indispensable to us at Glu. (GIANT WHISK construction!?!) I had no fear that they had load ins and our crazy last minute request/jitters handled. I really enjoyed working with this crew. They were fun and professional. Guests and bosses were happy. Beautiful wood features in space. Bartenders were sharp and funny. Coat Check rocked the multiple requests. They sourced the DJ and security - both great. Came for the Back to the 90s vs 2000's club night. They have a guest list before 11, I think if you email them before hand. Even with guest list, I think it's $5. After 11, it goes up to $10, which isn't horrible considering its SF. Luckily it was my birthday month so I was able to go in for free no matter the time and bring in two friends for free also. Nice! There was a bit of a line and we got in about 11:30. So it's a full on gallery with a bar. There was this cool trash art on the wall. And they set up some seating near the walls - not sure if this was open to everyone or reserved areas. Also when we got there, they hadn't opened one side of the gallery. I think around midnight they opened the 90s music room. It was super warm on that side of the gallery though - no windows and a few fans. But I think I preferred the main room with the 2000s music and the doors for ventilation. So much cooler there and better music. Haha. We got a couple drinks at the beginning of the night and it was really good. I didn't pay so not sure how much they were. Danced until they turned the lights on at like 1:45am. Then we all headed home. Overall a fun night. More...

Came here on a Friday night for the Trap x Art tribute to Notorious BIG. It's nice to have a late evening option that isn't centered around drinking (although yes, there are two bars and you have to buy entry tickets). There was a variety of art on display, mostly around the Biggie theme and mostly on canvas, but also vendor fares for sale and unexpected art like live body painting (brave girl!). We enjoyed the interactive stations like a canvas to decorate and an animated game of Connect 4.The vibe was very Oakland (and being an Oakland native, I mean that in a good way). The music and accompanying movie projector created enough atmosphere to feel your grove, but not so loud that talking was impossible. But I'm sure as the night went on the music got a little more bumpin and more people dancing.Btw, love that there is readily accessible water so you don't have to bother asking the bartender, who is then disappointed you're not actually ordering a drink. I'll follow their calendar and return if they're featuring a cool artist. More...

Always heard about the good music being played at various events at Minna. It just so happened we were in the City to see the Niners play one Sunday in late October and my good friend DJ JeffCee booked a gig at Minna. It was an event that had a purpose of not just getting everyone together for a Saturday night of good music and libations but it also went to a good cause. It benefitted the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society and more specifically held in honor of Stephine San Juan who was a survivor. There was a photo booth, raffle for prizes and they were taking donations for L&LS.We had a good time and the music the DJ JeffCee played was well received by the attendees and the staff. He had the closing set so the bar staff was cleaning up towards the end and they said for him to come back "anytime" as they enjoyed everything from his classic hip hop set to his Motown favorites and breaks. They were all super cool and we were glad they were digging the music.Only one side was dedicated to this party as the other side of Minna was a private birthday party celebration. If I remember correctly, the hallway where the restrooms are located are shared between the 2 spaces.Looking forward to going back to Minna. Hope they invite DJ JeffCee back to spin on another night. It'll give us a good excuse to be back in the city. For me to be home... More...

Coffee seems to take forever to be on your hands (do not ask for a latte or you will get a bowl of soup, better order an espresso and add some milk to it if you want to enjoy your coffee in one of those cute cups). That being considered, Minna Gallery is a total surprise. From the outside you don't get how big it is and how pretty and nicely illuminated and decorated. I like the idea of coffee shop + drinks bar + gallery + meeting place. All the tables are made of nicely designed wood and the art displayed is always super attractive. I've been to Minna countless number of times. Although this review is a bit over due, I felt that I should finally give credit to where it is due because of something that happened on my last visit.  A month ago, my friends & I went to Minna for "90's night", its their event that they have every 2nd Saturday. It's always super fun & I have no complaints. That particular Saturday though, the girl who happened to be working at the front was super rude to one of my friends.  It was her time to pay for cover & as she was taking her money out of her bag, the cover-girl felt the need to make her feel like she was taking way too long, with attitude & all. My friend told the manager what happened & he let her know that shes actually not hired through Minna, but through the promoters & that he would make sure that he lets them know. So fast forward, we went on with the night. We danced, drank, got down. You know, the usual. A little towards the end of the night, my roommate and I were at the bar & the person before us forgets their wallet at the bar.  So my roommate then takes it to one of the MC/Hosts guys, who then tells him to bring it to a guard, who then tells him to bring it to the manager.  So my roommate does & the manger is so very thankful for its return and gives him 4/5 drink tickets. My roommate said it was okay, but he had insisted. I mean, how awesome right? So five stars for the manger, I wish I remembered his name though. Oops. More...

Who would guess inside this little gallery there is coffee and other drinks offered and tables to do work?Great painting, house music, cool people, and great tables.  This place sets my mind free.

Beautiful open gallery space, bar and cafe. It's a great hang, meeting space and awesome for public/private events! I've been to many events and performed music here. It's intimate. It's great. Lots of hard surfaces so bring a sound guy;)) More...

This is a awesome spot! They do this thing every Friday called "Trap Art" where they do a tribute to many different artist the latest one I went to was J. Cole and it was crazy fun! Beautiful, great vibes, different environment! Has 2 bars and 2 different rooms, seems crowded but it really is not!I'll have pictures next time! More...

I was there this past Friday for the JCole TrapXArt again and I loved it! The line wasn't too long to get in (bought tickets in advance), the art was beautiful!! There were 2 separate sections, on one floor the art gallery was on display and the other floor was the dance floor. The DJ had a good flow and good music, everybody was dancing. There's also 2 bars with a couple of bartenders, so service is pretty good. The only thing is that it gets really packed and there was a point where it was hard to get by because it does get crowded. Overall great place and good vibes all around! More...

Attractive, open space. Decent beer list. Cool, helpful bartenders. No cocktail list but good bottles behind the bar and they'll make whatever you want. No food so you can bring food in from one of the nearby restaurants. More...

Superb coffee, even better setting. A very SF style cool and hip coffee shop/bar located in an art gallery. The art changes every couple of weeks as they host different events in the evenings for the artist of choice. The coffee is great and its such a good place for a meeting as there is so much to take in if you are waiting. I haven't had a cocktail here but they always look pretty great. More...

I come here for a variety of events, art openings, dance parties and fundraisers. I love the liquor and beer selection.I love that the keep drinking water available at all times. I like to decor or the space the benches and seating. When there is a dance party the seats give to a great resting vantage spot to people watch. The sound system is top notch also. I like that they were able to entertain two separate music genres in the two rooms. I love the artwork I see every time I go. More...

I've been working at and attending events at 111 Minna Gallery for over two decades and it is a fine gallery and a great venue for parties! The people I've met there are lifelong friends, the DJs that played there were amazing, and the staff have always been wonderful. Best cocktails and bartenders almost ever! I love 111 Minna! From Loveworks to our new event 1st Fridays it has always been so great! Love the art, music, dancing, and fabulous friends! One Love More...

It's tough to review this place because they've had so many different events over the years and your experience will depend on which night you're here. It's a great venue with 2 rooms, 2 bars, some great art, and most of the time, a lot of great people.  Events can range from quiet cocktail hours to loud and crazy DJ nights so plan accordingly.Good sound system but not great, less than ideal restroom facilities, can be tough to walk from room to room when it's packed, but I won't knock it for these things.  4 stars because of some great times here over the years. Great venue! Went to a Mixologi day party over the weekend and had a blast. Amazing music (DJ and live).Only complaints:It's an Art Gallery and there are beautiful pieces but they are hard to see during crowded events. The place gets HOT! We had to go outside several times to cool off.Still, it's a really beautiful space for a party in a cute alley on Minna. It's also close to food/drinks for continuing the party elsewhere. More...

Joined my friend who goes to Body Mechanics for their gym party and was pretty impressed. They rented out the gallery with a fully stocked bar, food and live music. There are 2 bars, one in the main gallery where the DJ sets up and the second in the back where there is also a stage for live music. I would have loved to see more art but know for events it all has to get moved out. However the wall pieces were quite lovely and I would want to come back to check out the art during the day. It's a great space for a smaller events, this event I believe was comprised of members and trainers from 3 of their gym locations. Here I learned a new reason to work out... The French 75 cocktail! So good :) More...

This is an interesting space. It looks quite small, but can actually fit quite a large amount of people. I attended a Casual Connect Pocket Gamer Mixer here, and there were at least 200 people at one point, and the area didn't feel too packed. There is also a nice bar area, in addition to a stage, that allow for presentations, panels, and performances. The art is also great-- particularly in the bathroom. It's definitely a cute spot! Great event space near downtown with two separate rooms, each with a bar and plenty of space for a moderate to large crowd. I have been here on a few occasions and it has always been a good time. They layout allows for plenty of people without being overcrowded and with 2 decent sized bars, it makes getting drinks easy. The art on the walls and throughout has always been interesting and the decor in general is warm and well done. Great event space. More...

If you have love for ART and MUSIC....plus, sippin' on some good cocktails while mingling with a diverse crowd, then you've gone to the right place. This is one of my favorite spots to hit up in the city. Best times are Wednesdays and Fridays for local artistry workshops and/or club events. If you aren't feeling the type of music...you can always groove to some elemental hip-hop, funk, and jazz after 9pm on Fridays. They have a cover charge, depending on what night you plan to attend. There's always a change of schedule when they book people, so it's best to check out their website for more info. More...

I was confused when I went to this place. Wasn't sure if it was an art gallery or bar, but I guess it is both? The drinks are decently priced and there are happy hour specials. If you're nice enough and wink at the bartender, he just might give you happy hour price after happy hour is over! More...

This review is for the coffee shop that I believe closes around 4PM daily. This place is more than a coffee shop. It's an art gallery, an inspiration factory, escape from the mess of downtown, a place for a meeting of minds. What can I say? Just let me move in already. More...

Thank you for being a part of Art Walk this past weekend June 7th. It was such a fun way to discover some of the amazing SF galleries and museums I might never have explored. By far, 111 Minna Gallery was my favorite, and I can't wait to show you off to my friends. I hope to purchase some of the works i saw--am especially fond of Adam Caldwell, Michael Reedy and Caleb Brown's featured works. I am now a fan! More...

This is a good place to meet for a drink in SOMA, and they tend to have interesting showcases here too.  As a hybrid bar/art gallery it feels a little different than bars that are, well... just bars, and it's never too crowded which I really like.  I get the same simple drink wherever I go, so I'm mostly interested in the scenery and feeling comfortable.  With a relaxed vibe and cool, locally-sourced art all around, I get both of these things. Also - they have a Nick Flatt!  My buddy and favorite local artist.  Great taste, 111 Minna. :) More...

Came here last Saturday - it was 90s night! I haven't enjoyed DJ sets that much in a long time! We kind of got the high school dance vibe going, but it was a nice change from the usual scene. There was even a lil b-boy circle that formed. That's taking it back! The bartenders are not shiesty with their pours - they serve strong drinks. A plus, in my book. Loved all of the art throughout the space. They could us a lil better ventilation, but it wasn't terribly hot inside.Dress: Casual More...

I came here awhile back for their Back to the 90s dance party on a Saturday night. It was SO MUCH FUN. There were two separate rooms for dancing, one focused more on 90s pop while the other focused on 90s R&B. There was a $10 cover at the door, and the alcohol selection looked pretty limited, but the music was AMAZING.Parking is a little hard to find if you don't want to walk at least a block or two to get to the art gallery, but unless you're wearing like 6-inch stilettos (or have just come from a hardcore pregame), you won't have a problem getting from your car to the venue. My only complaint would be that there were SO MANY PEOPLE. Moving around was complicated and I was constantly worried that I would spill my drinks on someone (or get something spilled on me). Venue also gets HOT with so many people on the dance floor, shaking their thangs and boogieing down. So sad that this event only happens every 2nd Saturday a month (but everyone who celebrates a birthday that month does get to get in free), but don't forget to keep an eye out for me dancing my heart out to Britney Spears and The Backstreet Boys!
