As locals of Cranford, 100 Steps is our go to for date nights, birthday or anniversary dinners. We’ve been customers since 100 steps opened & it has never disappointed. That’s difficult to say for most restaurants, but 100 steps is consistently amazing every time! Last night, it was my husbands birthday & I contacted the restaurant a few weeks prior to inform them I would like to bring in a balloon and a cake professionally made and if it’s possible if they can store it for a few hours. I had the grilled grouper special and my girlfriend had tagliatelle bolognese. both delicious . the place is small so unless you make reservations far enough in advance or for an off-peak timeslot, you'll be more likely to get a high-top table or at the bar. With all the restaurants around both my brother and I picked it (separately I might add) for our milestone birthday dinners. Why? Because the ambience and food are first rate. Love the unique menu. We went for our 5th anniversary based on feedback from others saying they enjoyed 100 steps and we also love seafood. We got the Burata appetizer with prosciutto and fig compote. It was very good quality and a nice size to share....I would have like a little more prosciutto but the quality was the best I've had. I got the mussels and chorizo. Oh my God. Everything was amazing. My server helped me pick out which oysters would work best for my taste and made amazing recommendations. I had the musssls pot and seasonal pear and candied walnut salad. Went to 100 Steps for my birthday dinner and it was absolutely fabulous. The staff was courteous and knowledgeable. This is one of our weekend go to spots. Visited on a recent Friday for some wonderful small plates. Great selection of oysters and always love the grilled octopus and the mussel pot. My lady took me here for my birthday and it was really nice. Service was really good, it’s a BYOB with is always fantastic, and it was just romantic enough. The oysters were clean and fresh, the shrimp cocktail a bit mushy (sorry but I cook shrimp much better) Overall the food had great presentation and tasted pretty good.
