What’s the secret to taking a great photograph?

IMPORTANT: Before answering the question here, I would like to inform anyone looking for a quote to contact me via my website. Bark does charge a fee to allow us to reply to any leads via the Bark site.) I don't believe there is any secrets to taking a great photograph. If you ask 1000 photographers the same question, they would more than likely all give you different answers, maybe they would all be correct, who knows. At the end of the day, a great photograph is determined more by the viewer, not the photographer.

What questions might you ask a client when starting a new project?

I definitely would first ask when they are looking to start the project, as I may not even potentially be available for that time. I would also ask for as many details as possible for the project, and what they sort of looking for in the images. It is huge for me to have this information, as I can gain clear insight of the project, which allows me to be fully prepared for the shoot.

What do you love most about your job?

Well, most photographers would probably say this is their passion in life or something like that, and in my case I'm not far off from that, but really for me what I love most about my job, is meeting people, and creating memories.
That was really driven home to me about a year ago, when a lady contacted me about photos that we did of her family, a year earlier. Her husband has suddenly passed away, and the only photos they really had of him were from the shoot we did. It was emotional, but the feeling that those photos will live on with their family forever, was priceless feeling to me.

What inspired you to start your own business?

I just feel this is what I wanted to do. I've been into photography for over 10 years now, and there isn't one day where I haven't thought about photography. It is just something that is big part of me. I have a never-ending feeling of wanting to create images. Not just any images, but images that speak to the viewer, and images that are more than the just the click of the camera. I love working with the people, sharing ideas, and creating the images as we go. That feeling drove me to do it as business. I felt overpowered to deliver that sort of product to people, and felt knowing that they would be happy with it.

Why should our clients choose you?

Affordability, dedication to quality, and professionalism.

I don't take on any and all clients out there, I pick and choose, finding the clients that are looking for something that I feel I can do, and do well. This helps ensure that the quality will be of high quality.
I am flexible with my rates. I don't believe in price gouging, or exorbitant fees. Let me know you're price point, and I am sure we can work something out that ensures both parties are happy with. I am very simple to work with that way.
I really enjoy working together creatively with people at photo shoots. The best part of the job is meeting people, finding out about all the great things going on in their life, all the while a shoot is going on. It becomes a lot of fun. Working together creatively is a big reason to choose me. Your ideas are important to me, more than my ideas. I usually try to incorporate as many ideas from the clients as possible. I feel their creative vision far surpasses my own many times, and is often a pivotal factor in making great images even better.
