We went here as an alternative to banff vermilion room due to the weather, and we were not disappointed. The food was excellent (best eggs benny I've had in a long time), and the service was fantastic. Definitely worth the money

Atmosphere was great, service was a little slow and forgetful. I ordered the smoked salmon benedict, it was delicious but the bagle it came on was very hard on the bottom anf a struggle to cut through. The food was super delicious. Lots of interesting flavours. Only thing that we tried that wasn’t our favourite was the tamponade on the trout dish. The lemon curd bowl for dessert was so bright and refreshing, a must try!! The restaurant was quite loud and unfortunately we got seated beside a rather rambunctious table, but the staff was very accommodating when we asked to move so we could actually hear ourselves talk. Enjoyed an absolutely delicious Yuzu Custard Stuffed Matcha French Toast breakfast at the Yellow Door Bistro this morning! I'm not usually a fan of papaya or coconut, but something nudged me in the right direction to still give this french toast a try and I'm SO glad I did, YUM! The photo doesn't quite translate how thick the toast is (I'd guess a quarter of a loaf,) with the custard deliciously embedded within. I didn't even need maple syrup (which is usually half the reason why I order French toast), though that's provided as well. Always love the decor of the Yellow Door. Excellent value tasting menu with wine pairing options. Trendy setting with nice atmosphere. Welcoming staff. Free underground parking. Quality of food & presentation was exceptional. One small thing. Food wasn't piping hot when it arrived at the table. Hot enough to eat but if you like to linger over you meal it would be cold before you finished. I love the Yellow Door Bistro it is one of my favorite brunch places in Calgary.The only complaint I would have is it’s very loud in the space and our waiter although very attentive was not loud enough when he spoke so it was very hard to hear him. He also was having a hard time hearing us. We ended up doing the buffet except for my father in law so our orders were all correct but I could see that being a future problem when commutation can’t be clear because of the noise level. Had the continental brunch buffet, and the food was quite good. I came at 12:30 and the pastries were a bit picked over (e. g. all the filled croissants and all of the fruit muffins were gone within a few minutes of my arrival- just plain croissants and bran muffins left) and were never replenished during the time I was there. However, overall I still feel like I got great value for the price- the continental buffet is only $15 and they did not charge me anything for my coffee, so really it was an outstanding deal even though the selection wasn't extensive. I like the space although I was next to a table with a bunch of small kids who were permitted to roam around the restaurant, so that detracted from the experience somewhat- not the restaurant's fault though! It was a good brunch buffet, however you can notice some of the food was not fresh. They were constantly refilling the empty trays, but some items like fruit, croissants and yogurt parfait did not taste/look fresh at all. The service with JR was awesome!
