Working with Wow Great Place was the best decision we could have made! We had a huge project (floors, new kitchen, 2+ bathrooms, floor plan reconfigurations, closet & storage design, lighting, paint. ...you name it!). Joanne was AMAZING to work with from start to finish!! We had been planning our kitchen reno for some time but were hesitating on pulling the trigger because there are just so many details in this kind of reno. Joanne worked us through the big picture (from major modifications vs full blow-up to cabinetry to electrical plans) and then was there every step for all the little details. She was able to provide supplier options for everything. She truly listened to and assessed our tastes, making suggestions aligned to those, as well as occasionally pushing us out of our comfort zone to explore alternatives that we might not otherwise have considered. But she never pushed her image of the final product. During renos she met contractors directly when we couldn’t or to be sure details were clear; she even brought samples to us and extras like plugs and lights saving several trips. Perhaps best of all, her incredible attitude: always with a smile and a laugh, always with a can do attitude. Joanne is a 6-stars rated designer! From the moment I first spoke to her on the phone, I knew she was the one to hire. She was very generous with her time and answered every question I had about my new house project. The project start date coincided with the birth of my twins but she is such an extraordinary project manager that we did not feel overwhelmed at all throughout the whole process of renovation. She guided us step by step from A to Z including making the floor plans, shopping for tiles, faucets, choosing paint color, decorations, etc. She is ALWAYS available and answers our textos/ calls within minutes regardless if it's evenings or weekends. Aside from being conscious on the aesthetic, Joanne gives great attention to functionality in everything. For example, the height of the hanging bars and drawers of our walk in closet took into account my height and that of my husband (as I am shorter than my husband) in our specific sections of the walk in. Another example is she took into account the height of all my hair products in the designing of my bathroom vanity and her choice of knobs and handles depended not only on the looks but also on comfortable grips. She really considers every details in whatever she does! Her experience and her passion for her job has yielded a perfect product that everybody praises. Every person who has visited my renovated house could not believe what a wonderful job she has done. The entire house has been transformed! We are looking forward to working with Joanne and her crew again on phase 2 (turning our basement into an Irish pub style man cave for my husband) and phase 3 for whole kitchen remodeling. She is the ultimate professional - a great source of information, gives prompt attention, remembers every detail (points out ones you never thought of), follows through, and with her competence is able to quell the emotions which can accompany renovations.

We first contacted Joanne to help us with the decoration of our living room space. We had recently purchased a few pieces and were struggling with furniture placement and the decorative touches. Joanne came to our house to meet with us and within an hour our living room went from one of the most underutilized rooms in the house to the one that everyone is always hanging out in. She took the furniture we had, helped us position it in a way that made sense and made suggestions of items in terms of wall art and other pieces to purchase. What was great about Joanne is she took what we already owned and made it work. There was no pressure to purchase fancy stuff.
At the time we had just signed with a kitchen company to have our kitchen/laundry room/powder room remodeled. Having liked what Joanne was able to do for us in the living room we asked her to help us with the decorative choices for the renovation. Her help and support was invaluable. She guided us every step of the way in terms of all the important decisions – floor tile, grout color, granite, handle placement (which is more difficult than you would imagine), paint colors, placement and style of light fixtures. She introduced us to Siena Céramique – a local tile store with many interesting tiles that you just don’t find in the big box stores. She came shopping with me to help pick out the tiles and the granite. She guided us in a way that the design very much reflects our style – it is close to what I would pick only 100% better because she encouraged us to think outside the box. The tiles, fixates, lights are all things I love but would have lacked the confidence to choose on my own. A kitchen renovation is a major financial investment and there is always the fear that you will make the wrong choices. Joanne helped calm our fears and mediate our style disputes. Every time we got stuck or disagreed on a decision we would ask Joanne to help us decide -she never steered us wrong. When you think of the overall cost of such a project the small amount it costs you to hire a professional such as Joanne is totally worth the peace of mind and the end product – My only regret in terms of my kitchen remodel is that we did not meet Joanne sooner. Joanne has many strengths but I feel her best skill is her ability to really listen to her clients. As part of the remodel of the main floor of my 1960's cape cod to an open concept a full kitchen gut and remodel was always to be part of the plan. As soon as the structural plans/changes were approved I quickly realized I needed professional help with the kitchen design. Joanne did a terrific job listening and soliciting exactly what I wanted from my new kitchen and developed a plan that fit my needs/wants, made the most of my space and could be accomplished within my budget. The home that we had just purchased required a major renovation ( which would end up taking almost 10 months before moving in). The kitchen, in particular, with it's odd layout and dimensions, proved a challenge. We met with 2 other designers, but they left us uninspired. Then someone referred us to Joanne. Well, as they say, the third time is a charm|! We hit it off immediately. After our first meeting, it felt as if we were dealing with a friend that we had known for years.
In planning our new kitchen, what we didn't want was something either traditional, nor modern and trendy. We were after a design that was both contemporary and classic, something rather timeless. And it had to be functional. She quickly understood what we were going for and came up with an impressive, brilliant design. We then used the cabinet maker that she referred (we also met with others, getting multiple quotes), and were very happy with both the experience and the result. We were also flattered when our new kitchen was chosen to appear in a kitchen design magazine.
Throughout the renovation, we worked with Joanne on other parts of the house, and were constantly impressed with her ideas, suggestions and solutions. She's energetic, easy to work with, fun to be around, and brilliant in her design sense.

Put a call in to Joanne even before signing for my "new" place, September 2006. After our first meeting I knew that Joanne had to be on my team. I showed her my binder full of ideas and my list of wants. She saw my vision and understood it to a "T".

January 2007 the work began. We had to totally gut the first floor of a 100+ years old triplex in Montreal, Quebec. Working full time did not allow me the luxury to shop around for what was needed, not that I desired to do so, Joanne was God sent she took care of everything. We texted, emailed and talked on the phone. Many times I okayed items sight unseen knowing that we were on the same page.

Joanne from Wow Great Place worked with us through the construction and design of our custom home in Brossard, Quebec. She helped us tackle decisions every step of the way from the floor plan, to paint colours, lighting choices and the kitchen layout. The final result was spectacular!
She is down to earth and fun to work with and was happy to answer our many questions, any time of day or night. She was always willing to meet us at various showrooms and come on site to finalize decisions. She worked alongside our builder to ensure that everything fell into place, right down to the height of each light fixture. She even managed to impress our builder with her knowledge. Joanne was a godsend during our kitchen renovation. I had a few very firm ideas of what I wanted: 1) IKEA cabinets; 2) a galley layout; and 3) a breakfast bar incorporated into a long run of quartz countertop.

Beyond that, I was in the weeds, and Joanne provided invaluable guidance in everything from finalizing the layout to selecting materials and colours for our reno.

Selecting the "right" porcelain floor tile was a real challenge. I spent a couple of weeks looking, on my own, before I asked Joanne for help. She came with me to a few stores and we found the perfect one in a single afternoon. She helped me pull together a beautiful colour palette of greys and creams. She also suggested the finishing touches, such as walnut doors on an accent cabinet. Now i have a serene, functional and beautiful kitchen!

Through the entire process, Joanne was patient with my thousand questions and "second guessings." She has a great sense of humour which made the process fun, and she is a consummate professional whom I would recommend most highly! More...

Isn't it funny how you can look at a room in your house one day and say to
yourself "Oh boy - this is looking old". My husband and I decided after 20

years or so of our old living room/dining room that it was time to freshen
it up. We had a vision of what we wanted, but were both so overwhelmed by
the project, we felt we needed someone to guide us. I found Joanne on Houzz
and knew from our first meeting that this was going to work. She was
attentive and considerate to our requests to keep many pieces and objects

My husband and I moved into our home June 2013. We immediately recognized a growing list of upgrades and renovations for our 60 year old home. Turning to a interior designer we worked with in Ottawa, she recommended contacting WowGreatPlace here in the Montreal area. I met with Joanne around August and I immediately knew I could easily work with her and trust her guidance. Joanne had an excellent sense of how much interaction and support I required embarking on our renovation list. I had a good sense of what we needed for a major basement renovation but just did not know how to achieve this goal. Joanne professionally (and with an excellent sense of humour!) guided us through the process and nudged us to take a few steps further to achieve a more refined end result. She recommended excellent contractors who were great to work with and completed an excellent basement space for us. While we had the contractors on site, we added a few extra upgrades to other areas of the house and are very happy with the results.
Joanne can recommend excellent suppliers to provide what is needed for various projects. She takes your budget into consideration but will nudge you into a sensible decision if she feels you should step up financial choices for a better end result. We went over budget for our basement project, however we are extremely satisfied with how it all turned out, money well spent!

I live overseas (China) and hired Wow Great Place to renovate our future family home in Westmount. As we are away for another couple of years I needed the property to look fresh and neutral but not personal so we could put it on the rental market. The house was well maintained by the previous owners but dated especially the kitchen. I didn't want to put in a new kitchen so tasked Joanne with making a 30 year old kitchen look great for as little money as possible. Well WOW - what a job!!! It looks fantastic - new shiny appliances, modern light fixtures and a fantastic new floor. It really it looks amazing. Joanne managed everything for me remotely and even factoring in her fees I know she saved me a fortune. This was a big job on a very tight budget and her creativity and understanding of the big picture meant she delivered and exceeded our expectations.
