What’s the secret to taking a great photograph?
Prior to scheduling, I like to connect with my clients for a complimentary consultation to get to know each other and establish the vision and purpose of the shoot. I have worked with clients that are both familiar and unfamiliar with being in front of the camera, so creating a relationship allows the client to feel comfortable and trust the creative process. This allows me to capture genuine but candid imagery from my clients to keep for a lifetime!
What questions might you ask a client when starting a new project?
First and foremost, if not previously mentioned, I ask the client what the purpose of their session is (personal, corporate, or just for fun use). It is also important to discuss the vision to establish the theme, style and/or mood. If necessary, I always recommend creating a shared vision board on Pinterest leading up to the session for inspiration and clarity. If the client has requested a personalized package, I discuss their budget, needs and desires and within those means what I can provide.
What do you love most about your job?
The process of combining the vision of the client with my own is always exciting and beyond meets expectations. I also love the different walks of life I am exposed to and the stories they share, I am always learning from my clients and exchanging experiences.
What inspired you to start your own business?
I have been both behind and infront of the camera for over 15 years. Growing up, photography began as a hobby with landscapes, nature, and vacations. Throughout my modelling and acting career, I found a love for portraiture and capturing clients in both an artistic and candid matter. After leaving my 9 to 5 in 2018 to pursue my passion of performing, modelling and photography, I took a leap and went full speed with my photography career in the summer of 2019.
What changes have you made to keep your customers safe from Covid-19?
I sanitize my hands prior, wear a mask and keep a distance during the shoot.
