What’s the secret to taking a great photograph?
The most important thing for me is to interact with people and make them feel at ease first, then assist in getting those smiling natural photos that portray the real emotions. Getting clients relaxed, interacting as a family unit and having fun is the key to a great photo! Obviously technical knowledge and great equipment adds to this but the bottom line is building rapport and having a good time.
What questions might you ask a client when starting a new project?
When planning a family portrait session I will ask a number of questions. How many people will be in your session? What are the ages of your children? Did you have a specific location in mind or would you like some recommendations? Do you have a fur baby that will be included in your shoot? etc. In regards to corporate imagery, how do you want to be portrayed? We will talk through locations and concept ideas to get you the result you want your clients to see.
What do you love most about your job?
My passion for photography and the opportunity it provides to connect with people. Creating beautiful, engaging, emotion provoking imagery to be treasured.
What inspired you to start your own business?
I've been a photographer since I was young and always have a camera on me as you never know when the perfect shot is going to present itself. I enjoy meeting and getting to know people to give me the best chance of capturing the perfect shot.
