Working with a family with small children can be very stressful but Natalie was wonderful with my boys - was able to grab their attention and had a natural way of putting them at ease. What’s the secret to taking a great photograph?
It's a combination of a few things! Lighting, posing, prompts for candid shots, the ability to capture the in-between moments, colour science and a million other bits and pieces go into creating a great photograph.
What questions might you ask a client when starting a new project?
The obvious one is what kind of session are they looking for. Is it family, maternity, just the kids, etc. We also cover dates, location(s), studio vs outdoor and other specifics. However, the most important thing for a successful session is to put the client at ease. To get a true understand of what they're looking for and to ensure that I can help them achive that.
What do you love most about your job?
There's a lot actually! But the absolute best part of my job is hearing from clients that their photos now hang proudly on their walls and that they smile everytime they see them! That's the entire point of why I do what I do. We can all take a million quick shots from our phones but the really important memories are the ones they get to look at every day.
