SHIFT is a therapeutic oasis located in downtown Toronto with some of the city's best social workers and psychotherapists. The Shift Collab is a cozy place and I believe a clinic for mental health and EAP in its usual hours. I attended a workshop on finding one’s own story from past and I must say that it was a very powerful one and I surely would recommend driven people who usually do not have time for themselves to reflect and think to attend this workshop. At least thru the journey Jordan one of the founders and the facilitator of the workshop helped me connected some unexpected dots of my thinking and my past. More...

Can’t recommend Shift enough. The Shift team doesn’t prescribe to one size fits all treatment and their approach to mental health & wellness is different than anything I’ve seen in Toronto. Expect the word collaboration to be taken seriously and for your therapist to look outside your sessions to establish other pathways of support. If you’re looking for a more hands on approach to managing your mental health, I would genuinely consider checking out one of their workshops or reaching out to a therapist. More...

The Shift Collab is a really modern therapy practice that manages to still feel professional, but is still very warm, friendly and not cold and clinical like other therapy offices I've been to. The office is decorated better than my apartment and the staff are all really friendly and warm. Going there makes therapy feel like less of an ordeal, and more a part of my lifestyle and routine. Attended one of their free workshops called How to Understand your story. Loved the warmth I received from all staff members. Jordan was a great facilitator and made us all feel right at home. He guided us through a book of thoughtful questions they created and provided. He was also open about his own story which allowed all of us participants to feel comfortable enough to share. I became acquainted with this cozy & inviting little clinic and the SHIFT network through regular visits with one of their therapists. I recently attended a free workshop they hosted about "Understanding Your Own Story," which was tremendously helpful and an opportunity to connect and share with other human beings! Not long into our journey, clients began to tell us that there was a tangible difference between the feel of our practice and others. We felt it too - but couldn’t quite put our finger on it. It took us a long time to realize that it wasn’t just a keen focus on the relationship between the therapist and client. What made Shift extra-special was the little things: the warm greetings and laughter in the waiting room; the fact that we didn’t skimp on cheap coffee and tea; the friendships that would come from our community workshops; and the idea that a place where we explore our deepest wounds could also be a place of joy.

Shift Collab was born out of a desire to modernize the therapy experience and make it more human. We want to make mental wellness a routine part of daily life, like going to the gym, seeing your physician, or getting a massage.

Throughout our journey of supporting thousands of clients and growing to include nearly 100 team members from coast-to-coast, we are focused on establishing a new norm for quality and experience of care. We fight to build mental health services that are more equitable, innovative, and reflective of the challenges facing our communities.

Our therapists are people first. In other parts of their lives, they’re artists and athletes, teachers and lifelong students, lovers of travel and advocates for social change. They use their own humility as a bridge to yours.

The most important predictor of therapy outcome is your relationship with your therapist. Let's stack the odds in your favour:

#1: Get a personalized therapist recommendation. Our Care Coordination team will custom-match you with someone who specializes in the issues you're looking to work on and will complement your needs.
#2: We offer free 15-minute meet-and-greet consultations. This is your chance to learn more about their practice and ask any questions you may have before booking.
#3: If you find that your therapist isn’t the right fit for any reason, we’ll match you with another therapist for a free session. No questions asked. Your comfort is our top priority.

Our therapists are here to support you remotely, whether that’s over the phone or video.
Plus, if you start therapy with us during COVID-19, you can easily move from virtual to in-person sessions once it’s safe to do so. We’re flexible — and that’s all part of believing in you and your needs.
