Q&As

I love seeing my students discover their favourite aspects about music, their own expression and their potential.

I am wired to be a creative and entrepreneurship lends itself well to creative ideas and followthrough.

If you enjoy music and you put the time and effort into it, I will match your efforts and try to exceed your expectations as a teacher/mentor.

Yes. I teach most lessons via zoom. I find that zoom works well as long as you have a steady wifi connection and have set up your space so that you can practise music.
When you sign up for lessons I will send you a zoom link and help you if you are not familiar with that platform.

Voice:

A variety of styles are taught at Shera Kelly Voice including pop, folk, country, rock, blues, R&B, and Jazz. Training is provided in an encouraging atmosphere that helps beginners and professionals grow as musicians.

What happens in a Voice lesson?

In a voice lesson typically one third to half of the lesson is spent working on warm ups and technique. The second part of a lesson is spent integrating these techniques to learn and practice songs.

What will I learn in guitar lessons?

Beginner:
Proper basic technique (posture, finger placement, movement), your favorite songs, tuning your guitar, chords, strumming patterns, melodies, finger picking and guitar mechanics (changing strings etc.). You can also learn how to write songs!

Intermediate:
Specialty chords and how to create your own chords, more complex rhythmic strumming patterns, difficult finger picking patterns, alternate tunings, how to play by ear and jamming.
