What’s the secret to taking a great photograph?
There are a lot of items that go into a great Photograph. Vision, Experience, Technique, preparation, Listening to the Clients requirements and delivering what is wanted, and of great importance a comfort level between the photographer and the subject. Each one of the items varies in importance depending on the type of photography. Wedding photography is about telling a story of one of the most important days in a couples life, Portraits require a connection between both parties with the responsibility of the photographer to put the subject at ease.
What questions might you ask a client when starting a new project?
Things like: Date required, Amount of coverage in hours for events; Location of the shoot especially if multiple locations are involved; # of people to be covered; Budget for the work if the client is willing to to provide approximate $ amounts they would like to spend. The reason for this is it allows me to create a pricing structure that blends desired coverage within their budget.
What do you love most about your job?
Meeting people and delivering images to them that will invoke memories throughout their lives.
What inspired you to start your own business?
I worked previously as part of a large organization where actual job satisfaction was hard to come by and accomplishments large projects to years/decades to complete. i started my business 8 years ago knowing that job satisfaction for my Photography would be immediate and that I would be responsible for all my Clients satisfaction. I like problem solving, Client interaction, Planning an event with clients and delivering the final product. I also enjoy that I may have continued contact with Clients by first shooting an engagement Photo followed by their wedding and leading to Baptisms and Family portraits.
