My priority as your counsellor is to create a safe and non-judgemental space where you can express yourself, integrate past experiences and traumas, process and understand your emotions, and explore issues that may be contributing to stress and imbalance in your life.
Sessions are available in person in Vancouver, BC as well as virtually throughout Canada.
My primary way of working with clients is expressive arts therapy. This type of counselling uses the imagination, creative expression, and play to explore and to promote self awareness, growth and healing. In my practice, I also draw on, and integrate other theories, including: somatic therapies, internal family systems, and mindfulness based practices. A session may include a period of talking as well as time engaged in the arts. No arts experience necessary.
Some of the potential benefits from this type of therapeutic approach include: calming of the nervous system, emotional regulation, integration of past traumas, developing a deeper connection and understanding of oneself, discovering new perspectives and solutions to issues that don’t seem to get resolved through talking, and an increased ability to adapt to new challenges.
I am a designated Registered Therapeutic Counsellor (RTC) with the Association of Cooperative Counselling Therapists of Canada (ACCT). Sessions are $120 per hour and may be eligible for extended health care benefits under some plans, including: Green Shield Canada, Manulife, Pacific Blue Cross and SunLife. Please contact your insurance provider for details about your plan.
I gratefully acknowledge that I live, work and play on the unceded and traditional territories of the sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), sel̓íl̓witulh (Tsleil-Waututh), and xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam) nations.
