I had a fairly unpleasant experience followed-up by even more dissatisfying behavior from the staff. Here are the issues I had:
- Poor communication: It took a week to receive a response after submitting my application. Then another week for them to provide me with a grooming date. Then another week for them to respond and confirm the appointment. 3 weeks in total just to arrange a time to have my cat groomed.
- Poor timing: I received a text saying that they running behind and would be there at 9:15am (rather than 9am). Then they texted me at 9:06am saying "12m away". Then they arrived 24m later at 9:30am on the dot without any further warnings of their tardiness. I had to cancel my meeting (as I work from home) because I was sitting around waiting for them.
- Not friendly: The greeting was very lackluster. Only one of the two employees in the van introduced themselves. The women wasn't rude or unpleasant, but she definitely wasn't friendly, kind, or warming. She made her job seem like a chore.
- Provided in the incorrect services: I specifically requested a "full groom" and there was a miscommunication. Rather than clarifying my expectations with me, they proceeded to give my cat a "full groom" which they define as everything except a trim. When they returned my cat not even 30m later and I discovered they had not trimmed her, I expressed my disappointment. Rather than attempting to rectify the miscommunication and brainstorm a solution, they responded with "You should have told us".
- Will not accept blame/fault or help rectify the problem: I received an email tonight from them at 8:33pm saying "We are sorry you are unhappy that your cat didnt get a trim. However it was not requested at beginning of the service. We could have easily provided that service if it had been communicated. Sorry that we didn't realize. Take care.".
I never contacted them after nor left a review until now. I simply expressed my disappointment after the service and then got that....
Is it just me or does that "we could have EASILY provided that service...." sound just a bit passive aggressive? Guess they had to have the last word. Safe to say I will never be returning here, no matter how convenient the idea may seem.

5 stars I have a lovely ten month old Boston terrier mix who has been extremely body sensitive. We had been unable to trim her nails, and unfortunately our vet was not helpful, giving us meds that seemed to exacerbate her anxiety rather than alleviate it. I heard about Purrdy Paws on an Ottawa dogs FB group, and booked an appointment, hoping this would work. We encountered professional and empathetic groomers, who took their time, cut up the appointment due to my pup's anxiety, and have recommended that we come in to say hello between trims to normalize the space and experience. The compassionate care and concern that they showed for our dog was so touching and put me completely at ease. This experience has been a godsend for us and our puppy. I highly, highly recommend. This is Rory an Iqaluit Special, with a unique coat as she is a poodle, terrier, dachshund, corgi, shih tzu with s bit of husky mix. All it takes is 1 entitled bad owner and with their circle of family and lying friends to post 6 bad reviews. This salon out of just about any other in Ottawa does something different. They hire professional and good morale groomers who actually care. Treat the animals with respect and are always honest. You will not find a better place to get your dog done in this city. If your dog looks good at home it will return looking even better. It's a Salon not a holy miracle center for curing mistreatment and bad dog ownership, they cant fix puss filled infections with a haircut. More...

What a great service. My kitty is getting older and having a hard time grooming herself. Purdy paws did a great job shaving her matts even though she is not too cooperative with being groomed. I just finished having my rabbit into the mobile spa to have her nails trimmed. Caroline was efficient, and gentle with Miss Ruby and did a great job (and saved me the scratches of having to do it myself). They were ahead of schedule; my appointment was for 2:00, and Ruby was done by 1:00. Price point wise, they are much cheaper than the various options I had looked into (eg. the vet). I will most definitely be scheduling Ruby for nail trims with Purdy Paws from now on! More...

Amazing place. My appointment was at 1. Got a text at about 12 saying they were ahead and could come by in 10 minutes. Appointment was done by 1pm! I have a siberian cat with extra long/thick/fluffy hair. I never intended to have a spa treatment for a cat but it was highly recommended by a neighbor. Best thing ever! Her coat looks so healthy and the "back" area trim is so helpful, no more accidents for her. Thanks to Monique Lacasse who found 4 beautiful kittens that some HEARTLESS PERSON left in a Dipper Box across the street from my house. .. She bought them some cat food and gave them love, they would never have made it through the night we are surrounded by bush and have lots of wild animals. Took my mini schnauzer in for an overdue groom, I usually do in between cuts at home but she was due for a full shave after a summer in water. She had a lot of trouble at their shop so they called me back to pick her up and they clearly really cared that they were distressing her. They wisely recommended their mobile service and even honoured their in store price given the situation. A couple days later mobile service came by and our dog did amazing with that. Meant a lot to me that they cared about the stress my dog was under and that they worked to find a solution that would be better for her. Also, THE BEST shave I've ever seen on my dog, I've never seen her ears done so well. I wasn't there for the service, but my boyfriend said they were great and my dog smells amazing. He's a rescue with some anxiety/aggression issues and they handled it very professionally, he's super clean and his nails were trimmed and he seems like he had a good experience. They said he cried a bit and it broke their heart so they gave him lots of treats. Definitely recommend for dogs who don't do well in "normal" grooming experiences! More...
