Excellent food, service, friendly staff. My elderly husband gets rum and coke just the way he likes it. Portalakises are a very nice and hard working family, always a pleasure to go to the kitchen and say HI to mama Jaquie.

Excellent food, excellent prices, family business and always clean and friendly staff. The waitresses always amuse my elderly husband who loves their rum and coke. I cook many of those Greek recipes they have, but can never make it so good. So we eat there whenever we eat out or we get guests from out of town. Their deserts are delicious. Went with some family on a Wednesday night and we were early enough to grab a table before the entire place filled up. If you plan to be later than 6pm you might need a reservation. We found this restaurant by accident as we drove down Main Street in Penticton. The service was first class; friendly and efficient even when very busy. The Moussaka was so good, I could eat it everyday for the rest of my life. So, we came back the next day and ordered Saganaki for a starter, which may be the best think I have ever tasted in my life. When we go to La Casa there is always a warm welcome. The food is excellent! We have been regular customers for about 15 years now. Try their lamb souvlaki or the kalimari or the moussaka. Absolutely without a doubt, the best Greek food in the province (yes, you read that correctly). A longtime, family run restaurant with a hugely loyal following. We never miss an opportunity to dine here whenever we're in town. The food is ridiculously good, plentiful, and the service is always capable, professional and courteous. It doesn't matter what you order, it's always fresh and beyond flavorful. Homemade excellence. My praise is effusive for good reason: You cannot have a bad meal here. Price point is very good, too. I think this is my first 5 star review. The atmosphere was homey and tastefully decorated. The tables were quite close to each other but there was not a lot of background noise. The menu selection was varied without being overwhelming. And the food was excellent. I had lamb soulaki. There was just a hint of char on the outside while still being perfectly medium. The vegetables were very well cooked. It seems rare to get zucchini at a restaurant that isn't way overcooked and the amount of food was perfect. In a world where everything comes pre-packaged at your local eatery, it's such a joy to find a place that makes its own sauces and sources great local products to make a high-quality cuisine in a rustic European family setting.
