Had the absolute pleasure of working with Bev as she helped with decor for my niece’s wedding event. She took our vision of wanting a very regal look, and made it come to life - with a backdrop that involved rich drapery, gold panels and beautiful candles. It was stunning. She worked with us with our budget, came with design concepts, was available for site visits and regularly communicated with us throughout the entire process. Beverley did a FANTASTIC job bringing out engagement party vision to life! She was able to recruit awesome vendors and organize everything so effortlessly! She is amazing to work with and really listens to your thoughts/vision and tries to find the best options. On the day of set up, it poured rain about 2 hours prior to the outdoor event and Beverley and her team were able to cover/bring in everything and still set it all up so that it all looked spotless when the guests arrived. I did not want to celebrate my 50th birthday due to the pandemic, however, my wife insisted we celebrate this milestone birthday.
The Hoopla Event team took into account that I wanted a no-fuss celebration and listened to my wants. The details for my 80s-themed party were exceptional - from the decor, cake, food, games right to the music.
Even with a small, intimate guest list consisting of only family, I was very pleased with party. Thank you to the Hoopla team for an amazing event!

What do you love most about your job?
I love collaborating with people and listening to my clients share their vision, interests, and ideas. I enjoy creating stories based on these ideas within the details of their event. Most consider planning work, but for me, it brings a great sense of joy and satisfaction.
What inspired you to start your own business?
I started Hoopla Events because for as long as I've known, I've had a passion for planning events and collaborating with people. My other passion is a cause that is close to my heart: my love for everything adoption! Both of my children are adopted, so this cause is extremely meaningful to me. So I thought…why not create a model combining my two passions? – plan incredible events and include the philanthropic component for my clients.

My 20+ years of experience in the advertising industry working with clients on large-scale accounts to bring brands to life ended up being a seamless transition to my own business. My clients had the utmost trust in my skills to ensure a high-quality product would be delivered as per the strategy, direction, timeline, and budget specified. These skills contributed to bringing stories to life for my new event planning clients over the years.
