Sam has been an excellent trainer. Sage has come soooo far with her training. before Sam I was scared to take my big girl Sage places, walking was a disaster, and what I really wanted was to be able to take her anywhere off leash and be able to control her recall and be able to have her stay close. within 3 sessions and lots of work on my side I can now say we have the confidence to accomplish anything! I will continue to work with Sam all the time as now I know Sage is capable of so much more training than she already has. I have an overly reactive miniature Aussie Shepherd who I have tried countless different methods on. I was feeling quite helpless, as my dog would bark and react at everything! People running, kids on bicycles, other dogs, hearing noises. Sam gave us the tools to provide my dog with a less fearful and more confident attitude at home and outside. You can tell how much he cares by how he assesses your dog and provides you with his opinion on what would work best for your dog. Sam is fantastic! our pup Duke is only 4 months old, but we needed some help. he had a terrible attitude when he didn't want to do something. We tried another route before reaching out to Sam. My daughter and I rescued Mazikeen (black dog) 3 years ago, then Lola in February 2020. Once Lola was comfortable in her new home, some aggression issues popped up that made us apprehensive, nervous and bit tense and afraid to leave them alone. We contacted Sam (Coulter K9) for training and help. After 2 sessions with him, he has provided us with the tools needed to make this rescue a success and he is available if we have any other questions or issues. My dog has been defensive since she was attacked about a year ago and it got to the point where I couldn't bring her on walks without her getting defensive and aggressive. Sam was capable of turning Oliver into a pro walker! He really knows what he is doing when it comes to dogs and having good energy/balance. Sam has worked his a** off with myself and my dog in only a few sessions so far, but I have seen AMAZING improvements in my dog. He has also given me the confidence to take my dog out, and what signs to watch for in my dogs body language. My dog is very reactive towards other dogs and with only a few sessions in, my dog can be within a foot from another dog without being uncontrollable. If you are even the slightest bit hesitant to get a trainer, DON’T BE. Sam is exactly who you and your dog need. Knowledgeable, understanding, and most of all cares about you and your dog. I had been to a couple different trainers for my boy Finn but have seen the most progress with the methods we learned from Sam. We are still working on it but I can see little by little, Finn’s reactivity signs are easier for me to spot, his reactions are easier to break and he is looking to me more for leadership. I have to admit that I was hesitant to use a pinch collar and or an e-collar but our puppy was not responding to positive only training. We had attended 2-6 class session working on loose leash walking and recall with little improvement. After the 1st session with Sam who had our puppy Stanley walking loose leash up and down our street I was sold. We tried more positive only and discovered we had a very stubborn strong willed puppy who started to learn using an e collar for recall and a pinch collar for loose leash walking. I appreciated the time Sam took in making sure we knew how to use these training techniques safely and to have us practice using them under his supervision. After 5 sessions we are ready to practice on our own for a month and then meet again to assess progress. I can speak highly enough about our experience with Sam, Angel and Coulter K9. More...

This training has completely changed our dog! In just two sessions with Sam he is more confident and our mutual trust has grown. I live in Lethbridge, Alberta and drove to Calgary for 2 training sessions with Sam and will continue to make the drive. He is very knowledgeable and knew all the proper steps to take with my very reactive dog right from the start and offered multiple different training devices to use at my comfort level. To be blunt @coulterk9 has completely changed my life. My cute and amazing puppy turned into an aggressive untamed possessive dog right before my eyes when I moved. Stanley had bitten a couple friends and viscously attacked 5 dogs. After many cries one attempt to to have my dad take him- I finally found and contacted Sam @coulterk9 and told him my concerns and how I was at my wits end. Then Sam came over and in 5 mins stanley went from “murder mode” to eating treats out of his hand. He litterly took my little killer from this crazy dog to an almost tamed confident dog. Working with Sam has allowed me to see my Black Russian Terrier as the dog I hoped he could be. I used to cross the street to avoid other people and their dogs. My Missus is a well behaved dog, especially around children and other people. She however is not so great with other dogs. I have had concerns that she may start a fight and the vet bills would end up being more than I have. My long coat German Shepherd, Casper, is as reactive as they come. Even hearing another dogs collar will send him into a full spiral. It had gotten to the point where I dreaded walking him during the daytime where other dogs go because it was stressful and humiliating to have a dog so terribly behaved. We had been to a trainer and spent countless dollars on training classes and tools just to try and help Casper but nothing was working. When I found Sam on Facebook I was still very skeptical. I didn’t believe there was any chance that MY dog would show progress in just one or two classes. To make matters worse, Casper is usually very fearful of men. I didn’t think that having a male trainer would work for him. Within my first class, Casper was laying down side-by-side with another dog. It had me in tears. And as he’s laying down beside another dog, he rolled over for a belly rub from Sam, which is something he has never done before with any male. By the second class, Casper was in an entire room full of dogs and only focussed on me. It was something I never thought would happen. What Sam teaches you, not only works in the class settings, he gives you the tools and the confidence to carry out training in your day-to-day life. For the first time ever, Casper walked beside another dog who was barking, and did not react. The progress is absolutely amazing and something I was not expecting to happen so fast. Sam definitely knows his stuff. In our initial meeting alone he shed my dogs fearfulness in a light I hadn't seen before. I have 2 small dogs that needed Sams help. Sam helped up us to understand how to properly train our fur babies to loose lead walk and not be so reactive to other dogs and humans.
