Clay asked me the questions I would not have thought to ask myself. We only know what we know. Awareness is always growth.

Clay is a fantastic life coach. He has been helping me for over a year. In that time, I've lost nearly 100 lbs and gained a perspective of gratitude. I have moved forward as a person and a professional since working with Clay. If you're ready to transform, work with him. He'll get you there. More...

Q&As

I have always been the person who sees the very best in everyone, and I strive to help people reach their fullest potential. I spent many years toiling away in a career that did not allow me to feed this purpose, and it took it's toll on my physical and mental health. When I changed to this career, I felt a great weight lift off of me, and I find now that even my worst day at work is better than my best days in the previous life. I truly believe this comes down to moving to a career that aligns with my greater purpose, and being in a place where I get to fulfill that purpose every day. Whether it's working with a homeless person in the downtown eastside of Vancouver in my part time job, or a high tech executive in my coaching business, I get great joy out of seeing people find attainable goals and then seeing them attain those goals and move on to the next one.

Although I achieved a good amount of success in my previous career, I always felt that something was missing, an aspect that was intangible and hard to identify. After I left a good job I did a lot of self exploration and thought on what drives me, and what I'm looking for my career to provide. After some research and difficult decision making, I decided to go back to school to become a Coach and Counselor. It turned out to be an excellent choice, and I am very good at what I do now. To be able to do it for myself and not for some share holder's bottom line adds an element of freedom and excitement that I didn't even know existed in my 20 years in my previous career.

Simply put, it works! It doesn't matter the target, the education level, my knowledge of the technical aspects of the goal, or what possible blocks or prejudices the client has. As a client centered coach and counselor, my job is to look at each client without judgement and empathically meet them where they are at...wherever that may be. This is a skill that I've always had and the training I received in school helped me hone that and learn some techniques to keep my own agenda or views out of the process. If a client and myself decide to work together after an initial meeting, we are both assured that we are a good fit and they will be able to achieve the presenting goals as long as they do the work THEY decide they need to do.
