Absolutely the best B&B we have ever been to. Beautifully restored century home , tastefully decorated , with all the conveniences of a modern home. Woodstock is a beautiful area & we will definitely visit again. Alida is a gracious hostess & we intend to return ( and have breakfast next time). This is the real deal B&B that my partner and I were looking for. It's a very well kept Victorian-type home decorated beautifully in classical style. The owners who run the place are very accommodating. The breakfast was delicious! And the whole place was very clean and inviting. Good vibes all around. We wanted a nice place to stay for our anniversary, a night away from the kids. Beautiful historic mansion! We really loved the bathroom in our room, the jet tub helped me relax. It was such a beautiful night, we sat outside by torch light and had an evening tea before bed, just like at home. The hosts Alida and Francois were very friendly personable people, we learned a little about their culture as well. Having our own balcony was a nice touch as well, something you usually don't see in hotel chains. This was our first stay at a bed and breakfast and was a little unsure of what to expect, but this has been a good experience and have opened us up to explore more about B&B in the future. The best place to stay in Woodstock! Wonderful location, beautiful historic building, comfortable beds, warm hospitality. My only regret is that I was not able to stay longer . I had to leave early in the morning and they were very accommodating, sending me off with a packed breakfast. I stayed in the small room on the top floor which is perfect for a solo traveller. Cozy and private with a spacious bathroom and walk-in shower. Chateau la Motte is located in the old central part of the city with all of the stately homes that were built by the founders of the city. It's a lovely area for walking. More...

We all have our own reasons for being in a Bed and Breakfast Guest House with our own expectations and standards. My husband and I wanted a romantic night away and this is exactly what we recieved while staying at the guest house. The house itself had so much charm and authenticity to it. We were welcomed into the house by such a pleasant couple, who took the time to sit with us and get to know just who we were as well as we got the pleasure to get to know who they were as well as the history of the house. We were so relaxed and enjoyed their company like we were at home. The honey moon suite was absolutley breath taking. We all loved the Chateau..beautiful house, such a masterpiece of achitectur. Warm and friendly hosts...rooms are very clean, the sheets and beds very comfy. Beautiful historical building (check out the plasterwork and painted ceilings on the first floor), wonderful staff, comfortable guest rooms (best shower I've seen in a long time) and a really fantastic breakfast (presented on real china, wide selection of fresh fruit, preserves, a homemade quiche, rolls and müsli, yogurt, tea and coffee). This is just stellar.

Our Church leadership team did our annual working retreat here and were overwhelmed by the beauty of this home and the hospitality of our hosts. A true 5 star (and affordable) experience.
