Bryce was fantastic! We originally had him referred by a family friend, and met with him to do family/engagement photos prior to the wedding. Our wedding photo venue ended up under construction the week of our wedding and Bryce accommodated our time lines, meeting and taking test photos to put our minds at ease. What’s the secret to taking a great photograph?
The best photograph is much more than just what something looks like. It is to project feeling, or an emotion or a message. That is why I take my time no matter who I photograph. Sometimes it takes a little while for people to start to feel comfortable in front of the camera. Other times the client is not sure what they would like so we try a number of different options.
What questions might you ask a client when starting a new project?
I always spend time trying to understand what my clients needs.
I will ask what they are going to use the photos for. Are they for printing or for website or social media. What is important to them? I usually ask clients to send me examples of photos that they like. And we talk about these.
We also talk about their budget. I make sure that my client understands what they are going to get.
What do you love most about your job?
As long as I can remember I have been taking photographs of people. In fact I learned about photography by photographing all sorts of people, from the very young to the very old, from rock musicians to new moms to business owners. People are interesting and that is why I photograph them. It might be the day of your wedding, your family in action, or who you are as a business brand, I will provide you with real, authentic photographs.
Good photos are important. They show who we are, why we are special and what we value most in our lives. Photography allows me to capture a moment in time and give it to you to hold on to. Photographs are the best way to tell and remember your story.
I live on a large country property north of Kingston, Ontario. My main focus is eastern Ontario however I am available for travel. Please inquire for pricing and availability.
What inspired you to start your own business?
I have always had an interest in photography. Overtime more and more people were asking me to help out with family photos, business photos, even weddings.
I found that I had a skill for getting people to relax and more importantly to look relaxed in the photo.
Why should our clients choose you?
Many people are uncomfortable in front of a camera. They know they do not want the photograph to look posed and stiff but they aren't really sure what to do. I have photographed hundreds and hundreds of people, and most of them require a little bit of coaching to look their best. One of the most important keys is to let my subjects have fun. That almost always brings out a more natural pose and expression. Many told me they did not want to get their photos taken. But after an hour almost all they told me that they felt relaxed, they had a good time, and they were happy with how things turned out. For many of them this was the first time they were ever happy with a photo.
Wether it is a person or an event a good photograph is much more than a record of what something looks like. It projects a feeling, or an emotion or a memory. I spend time with you to make sure I understand who you are and what is important to you, This way I can give you a photograph with meaning.

What changes have you made to keep your customers safe from Covid-19?
Most people are getting much more relaxed about Covid-19 but if you prefer I can wear a mask and keep my distance. Or we can photography outside if that is appropriate.

I can meet you at my home, where I have a studio, at your homes or any location you desire.
portrait
A portait is a great way to capture who you are. For professional purposes it can be quite close to a headshot but typically with a little more creativity.
branding
This os a photo typically used for business purposes. Often I will show you at work. I want to demonstrate professionalism as well as generate interest in your skills and career.
headshots
This is something I do for business purposes or social media. The objective is to match the shot with the purpose or profession. For example someone who organizes children's birthday party is going to have a much different head than a personal injury lawyer.
I can do headshots at my home where I have a studio or I can come to your location.
Lifestyle
This is a shot that shows who you are. It is typically done outside of a work environment. We discuss the image you are trying to project and plan around that. A subject can have several quite different lifestyle photos.
