Paul is a fantastic teacher!

I have had many guitar teachers over the years and Paul really stands above them all. He has an uncanny ability to keep you challenged at the right level, sometimes more rigour and theory, and sometimes more fun just jamming. I came to Paul wanting to learn the Blues and my interest has grown to a greater interest in Jazz. Paul had the technical depth to easily help with my new Jazz focus.

I've been taking guitar lessons with Paul for almost a year now. As an absolute beginner I was definitely intimidated and wasn't really sure what to expect, but Paul has made learning guitar fun and a great experience so far. We've covered a variety of styles and techniques and his passion and interest in music is contagious. I took guitar lessons with Paul last year and he really helped me develop my soloing technique. Paul is an awesome teacher! I started learning the guitar and taking lessons with him as a beginner, having little knowledge on the instrument, or how to play. However, after a short period of time, Paul was able to teach me a lot. From reading the music, to improving on fingerpicking, improving on different chords and transitioning between chords, and most importantly, learning all my favorite songs. I really enjoy having weekly guitar lessons with Paul because he can help you learn whatever you desire. Personally for me, I wanted to learn some of my favorite songs on the guitar, and improve on things like fingerpicking, and Paul was able to help me on that. Every week, I come to the lessons requesting to play a new guitar song. Paul is able to teach me the songs instantly, and he can even know exactly what to play on the guitar, simply by listening to the song, by ear. Paul is an extremely experienced, knowledgeable, and talented teacher. He is able to teach and help students of all skill levels, and he is interested in what you want to learn. Paul is an awesome teacher! I am fortuante to be taking lessons from him. His lessons are always engaging and inspiring. I started out with some basic knowledge from music school. Paul sets goals and makes suggestions based on my individual need, which was such an eye opener coming from a place where there is only a very standard curriculum. Paul has vast knowledge about guitar and music, and makes the most out of teaching songs. He taught me to not just learn how to play, but also learn how to analyze the music theory behind it. I have been fortunate enough to be taking lessons at Blue Guitar Studio with Paul for almost a year now. For me, an instructor who has an undeniable and broad skill set and also active within the industry was an absolute must. I knew upon reviewing Paul's guitar ability, singing, and songwriting, that he would be an amazing mentor. When I first started, I had very little experience with only a basic knowledge of how to play based off my parents who played the guitar. Paul was able to quickly identify the best way to get me started after discussing my general goals and expectations and we dove right into playing a song my first day. He provides clear direction, weekly assignments, follow-up lesson videos to review after the session, and always asks for student feedback. His studio is professional and welcoming, with a multitude of guitars, instruments, amps, drums, and more! I can't wait to jam on every guitar on the wall! Paul provides so much more than just phenomenal guitar training, as he coaches people on singing, songwriting, drums, and so much more. He is a highly compassionate teacher, who understands that all students come with varying skill levels and challenges to overcome, and he treats every individual the same no matter what level they are. Paul has been able to custom tailor his teachings so I can accomplish my specific goals. Paul is a phenomenal teacher.

He is infinitely knowledgeable, passionate and inspiring. He can teach you guitar in any style, and caters to what you want to learn, and your pace. Paul helps you learn and understand music and your guitar, not just practice songs and chords; the difference is vast. 7 months ago I started lessons from level 0 - every week I come back a better player, eager to learn and motivated to improve.

I have gone through about 3 teachers until finally a friend of mine referred Paul to me. And he has been my teacher since then. He is patient, professional and super talented. I am still amazed by how fast he could pick up a song - pop, rock, classical, Brazilian bossa nova, traditional Hawaiian music...I have thrown all kinds of song requests at him to test the depth of the water - haha! I have not found the bottom of the water tank yet...I had so much fun learning and playing guitar with Paul. I would recommend him to anyone who is interested in learning to play guitar.
