Bistro '67

We spent New Years Eve at Bistro 67. The set menu was incredible and had more than enough choices to satisfy. Enjoyed every moment!

Our office had our Christmas Party at Bistro 67 this past weekend, and every single member of our team agreed that it was one of the best meals we'd ever had. We had the Chef's Table, and every single course that was served was beyond delectable, and the presentation was superb. The service and hospitality offered by the team was second-to-none, and we had the opportunity to tour their facility and see the efforts they've made towards sustainability. The food, staff and interior design were all good and as expected, however location of the restaurant and building is very confusing and hard to find specially if you’re not from the area. ... The restaurant area is new development and still under construction and the physical address differed most maps and lacking proper directorial signs.In the rainy or snowy days/ nights, Prepare to have your spare shoes, as The parking lot is not fixed (dirt road) and there’s walk to the main entrance of the building.Lastly there’s no washroom/ bathroom inside the restaurant, but there’re facilities in the building passed the elevators. Our first experience in Dec 2018 was enjoyable so we decided to come back with our little kids. It was a lovely experience with the exception of the food. We ordered: App - Sweet Potato Hummus (Rye sourdough crisps, chili oil); Mains - Shawarma Burger and soup (Beef patty, pickled turnip, chickpea hummus, fattoush, garlic aioli, brioche bun) and Sushi Bowl (Seared bluefin tuna, avocado, sticky rice, roasted nori, pickled ginger and red onions, cucumber, toasted sesame seed aioli); Kids - Epic mac and cheese, and Bistro ’67 beef burger and frites included ice cream sandwiches. Pros: Service was warm and thoughtful; shawarma burger and soup, mac and cheese, and ice cream sandwiches were good! We were offered delicious chocolate covered strawberries to acknowledge our anniversary celebration. Cons: Rye sourdough crisps were too thin to scoop up the hummus, they’d break before I could get any hummus on them. A redundant appetizer choice considering bread and spread is offered before your food arrives. Didn’t love the sushi bowl, there was a flavour in it that didn’t blend well with the Japanese flavours. Maybe peppercorn? Kids’ meals were lacking, not balanced and too large for little kids. A large bowl of macaroni and real cheese and a full sized burger with greens and 2 tomatoes. Nothing other than butter on the bun. I didn’t ask the server for mayo or mustard, but I’m sure she would’ve had some if I asked. Why not offer sliders?, easier for little hands; and balance the kids dishes with a few raw vegetables for color. Eat the rainbow, folks!I chose Bistro 67 because they had a dedicated Kids Menu, but I don’t recommend it for kids until they make some improvements. What a hidden gem!!! Always wanted to try it and finally had a chance to go for my Birthday Party. Their food is fantastic and they are very accommodating when it comes to allergies and respond to inquiries in a timely manner. I’ve been to Bistro several times since moving to Whitby and it is the #1 restaurant for me!The food menu is fantastic, thoughtful touches honouring local cuisine. The ambiance is perfect, chic and simple. The staff are very accommodating and kind and the food deserves a whole review of its own! I would only request that there would be added identifiers on the menu for vegan and vegetarian, which would provide a much easier meal selection! I absolutely loved the vegan cheesecake - it was absolutely delicious! Thank you for making a birthday celebration so special. I look forward to eating at Bistro again in the near future! More...

We had a relaxed time...staff didn't rush us and had time to enjoy our bevvies before lunch arrived.I have to say though, that a take out container of soup was $8! ...seriously I could buy bean and bacon soup at the store for $1.49...it equaled a cup of soup instead of a bowl...need to rethink that one.
