Bereavement counselling at Roger Neilson House for those experiencing the loss of a child up to the age of 19

You honestly never understand how important places like this are until you need them. We are profoundly lucky to have the Roger Neilson House here in Ottawa. When going through a pregnancy with a very grim diagnosis, the staff at Roger Neilson House were the only people to refer to our daughter by her name and acknowledge her as our child. We have had very good care at the hospital as well but she was always referred to as “this baby/ fetus”. It seems like a small thing but aside from everything else they do, this one little thing gave us so much peace and validation. This is an amazing place when you need them. More...
