What do you love most about your job?
I love interacting with all my fellow furiends. No matter what breed, size or quirk(s) they may have I always love spending quality time with them.
What inspired you to start your own business?
Since elementary school I’ve always had a passion for animals. Becoming a veterinarian was something that I had always envisioned for myself. However, sports were always a big part of my life as well and so I ended up taking the physiotherapy route. So that meant I had to find another way to pour my love and soul in taking care of animals. I started off with dog walking for those in my neighbourhood and my journey with pet services started to grow. As a pet parent my entire life, I simply can’t see any better way of spending my time. My passion for pets and animals will never subside. Each and everyone has their own quirks, personalities, and beauty and I will always be thrilled to work with any pet. So after a while I decided to create my business: Active Furiends and my life has never felt so full with all the kisses and fur I collect on my clothes each and everyday!

As a pet parent for may years, I understand the anxiety that comes with deciding who to trust with your pets’ well-being-not being with them is hard enough. First and foremost, I live by my reputation, and value trust and dependability. My goal is to give you an idea of who I am, including my hopes and passions, and in the process, I hope to alleviate your nerves and gain your trust.

All the services that Active Furiends provides are based on an in person appearance. This includes: dog walking, drop-in visits, house sitting, dog boarding and pup ventures.
What changes have you made to keep your customers safe from Covid-19?
There were many protocol’s in place to keep the owner, their pet and our employees safe. This included: hand sanitizer before and after handling a pet, face coverings if entering a property, and no services being provided if the owner or the employee were feeling/showing any symptoms.
Pack Walks
An all inclusive group experience including wiping paws, water top off, feeding and lots of cuddles as well as any personalized requests.
Group walks are customized to location and are designed to organize pick up and drop offs within a few min of each other, allowing your pup to accustom themselves to the other dogs with lots of sniffing as well as give them enough time to get used to adding distractions without losing control.
Private Walks
Some of our furry friends love to get all the attention and are much more selective and specific with their needs.
A private walk provides your dog with a much more calm and tailored walk, designed to support their individual needs and give them the fresh air and exercise they want
We design private walks that take your dog into new and exciting areas, exercising their body and mind.
Puppy Walks
Puppy walks surround a puppy’s need to exercise their mind by enforcing good behavior and practicing commands.
We begin with a walk around the neighborhood giving your puppy time to practice a calm heel walk and recall with distractions and also getting used to the community near your home. Your puppy will also get the chance to socialize with our company dogs that are well trained and trusted to move towards group walks.
Drop-in Visits
Drop-ins are the perfect service for any animal (cat, dog, and any other pet) that will be home alone for extended periods of time. We take time to play and care for your pet, from bathroom breaks, food and water refills, quality time and handling, as well as any other requests you may acquire based on their specific needs.
We love all animals from furry friends to birds, lizards and snakes!
House Sitting
This service is an excellent choice for those pets who require care for longer periods of time and are far better in a home environment.
Our sitters specialize in the best care for pets of all shapes, sizes and behaviors and accommodate to all their needs according to your direction and request. In-home care provides an endless number of benefits including: less stress for pets and owners alike, enforcement of a usual routine, better options and care for senior or reduced mobility animals or reactive pets. Care for stay-at-home pets that do not require outdoor time or pets that don’t yet have all their shots, as well as support and options in case of a house emergency someone is present while you are away.
Pet Boarding
Boarding your pet: They will have all their personal needs met and enjoy their day with lots of activities so when you are on your vacation, they will have one too!
Overnight Care Includes:
3-4 trips outside into an individual fenced run
1,2, or 3 mealtimes, depending on your pet’s schedule

Pup Ventures
This is an opportunity for your pup to embrace their wild side out in the Canadian Rockies while socializing with other furry pals. These are 2-5 hour adventure hikes which are currently offered once a week every Sunday.
