What do you love most about your job?

I love how the arts allow people to play, to become free. It is a beautiful meditative process that allows one to became fully present with themselves. There is an honesty and authenticity that overrides fears and allows insight to drop in. When this happens its magic . I love helping people to realise that have an inner knowing, to encourage playfulness and creativity and to find inner peace, harmony and freedom.

What inspired you to start your own business?

Because of my own arts practice I know first hand the benefits arts practice can bring. My studio invites all who enters to create and express themselves creatively. I enjoy creating the studio space and sharing it with others. It is very rewarding to me to see others receive the benefits too,

Why should our clients choose you?

I have an open and accepting nature, I understand the gift that it is to work with those who choose to work with me and I am dedicated to be fully present and transparent in the therapeutic relationship. As the therapist, rapport is essential between the individual and myself . I hope to establish a good working relationship to be able to assist in any transitions or goals the individual seeks.

Can you provide your services online or remotely? If so, please add details.

Ideally I like to practice art therapy in the studio where we can access various materials and mediums and develop rapport in the shared space, However in the situation we find ourselves in online offers a space that can be just as conducive to therapeutic outcomes and also enables a wider reach of people from various states in Australia. I offer platforms such as zoom calls or skype.

What changes have you made to keep your customers safe from Covid-19?

Remote online sessions are available if one is uncomfortable with coming to the studio.
Covid procedures are in place.

This will vary according to the level of experience and training that the therapist holds.

This will depend on where you live, what level of training your therapist has and what they specialise in (whether they are a counsellor, psychotherapist or psychologist) and also how many years of working experience they have.

Your professional therapist will be able to advise you on the full range of therapies available and will be able to help you select the best one to suit your needs. They will also be able to answer any questions you may have. Use Bark to get free quotes and find a trusted therapist today.

You need to devote some time to finding the right therapist as the connection you have with your therapist is essential. You need someone who you can trust, someone you feel comfortable talking to about difficult subjects and intimate secrets, someone who will be a partner in your recovery. Therapy will not be effective unless you have this bond, so take some time in the beginning to find the right person.

It is worth talking to a few potential therapists and asking questions. Therapists also have special areas of focus, such as depression or eating disorders. For some issues, such as trauma or PTSD, seeing a specialist is absolutely essential.

Everyone’s treatment is different. How long your therapy lasts depends on many factors.

You may be offered a single session of counselling, a short course of sessions over a few weeks or months or a longer course that lasts for several months or years.

It can take a number of sessions before you start to see progress but you should gradually start to feel better with the help and support of your trusted Bark therapist.

Professional counsellor training takes three to five years and can be a diploma or degree level. Qualification requires a minimum number of client hours acquired through a work placement.

You may also want to ask for testimonials of their recent work. You could also look at their profile page on Bark and Bark can show you reviews from past customers who have used their therapy.

Therapy has repeatedly and consistently helped patients with a whole host of issues. It can help with mental health conditions such as depression, anxiety or an eating disorder. Or it can help with an upsetting physical health condition such as infertility, a difficult life event such as a bereavement or a relationship breakdown. It can also be used to tackle difficult emotions such as low self-esteem, anger or sexual identity issues. Therapists also offer couples therapy. Therapists can also help with anxiety issues deriving from the coronavirus.

Absolutely! Many therapists offer sessions over the phone or through an online video chat platform, so you can have a session from the comfort of your own home - all you need is a strong internet connection and you're good to go.
