What inspired you to start your own business?
Suffering with health issues such as gut imbalances, gastric reflux, chronic constipation, and more when I was younger, the treatment process & health issues as a whole was something I never wanted to experience again.
I admit, the treatment process impacted my understanding of what healthy eating truly is. Being placed on a FODMAP diet, I thought that this was near the gold standard diet for someone to be 'healthy'. It was super restrictive, and didn't include any of my favourite foods, but it fixed me, which I'm grateful for. It was more after I recovered, that it impacted me.
For years I stuck to a super strict diet and never ate any takeaway or restaurant food, and I hated it because I always was an outcast when I went out with family & friends, but because of my past health issues, I didn't trust anything outside of my diet. When I turned 18, I decided to try slowly adding different foods into the mix, purely because I wanted to go out to nightclubs and enjoy being a fresh adult haha.
I ended up being able to eat basically anything I wanted without sickness, which was great! Admittedly, I went on a spree of months eating horrendously and drinking to match this. It was only a few months in that I realised "sh*t, I'm chubby and I hate how I look right now". Being someone who's always been in good shape, this was a horrible feeling to me and I was ready to change that immediately.
So.. what did I do? I went back to what I know best, restrictive dieting. Only this time, I couldn't stick to it, mostly because I wasn't sick with health issues, and it was more of an appearance matter. Few weeks went by, it sucked, and I eventually thought there has got to be a better way.
Over the next few weeks, I kept reading different things online, from dirty bulks, to keto, low-fat, vegan, everything! It was overwhelming, all these different online sources telling me what works and what doesn't, supposedly.
I saw this one method online, that began the beginning of making my own fat loss approach. It was the 80/20 rule, which refers to eating 80% whole foods, and 20% of whatever I want (junk foods etc). Using this, I ate ice cream every night within this rule, and I was losing weight! I lost 10 kgs in 12 weeks, it was unreal!
Along with my current job at the time of doing group training at a gym, I decided to dive into personal 1-1 coaching in a gym. Not long after getting into this, I injured myself in a rugby league game and required surgery on my shoulder. Being early into my personal trainer job at the gym, and do so well early on, I was devastated, but this hasn't stopped me.
I decided to dig deep and use my own personal story as my niche for my own business. I am a major snacked who lost weight, and is keeping in shape, without sacrificing my favourite foods, social events, or dinners out with my beautiful girlfriend.
Keeping yourself in shape without having to sacrifice these things brings the ultimate balance in life, and takes a lot of weight off your shoulders. My goal and the program's goal is to teach people like you how you can do the exact same, but quicker. All these learnings took 5-6 years of experience, and it wasn't easy..
Here I am now, giving you 5-6 years of experience & knowledge, and teaching you it within weeks/months. Saving you all the trial & errors that I faced, and also all the future medical bills that you will face if you don't change your habits now, unfortunately, I faced these earlier on, but I'm grateful as I have time to recover it and better myself, so you do..
