I am a Counsellor and Therapist certified in Clinical EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique or Tapping). Call or text on mob0433307649 to book an appointment or 15 minute free consultation. I help people resolve anxiety. and stress, grief, phobias, difficult relationships (with people/work/food/substances) or PTSD. I assist in discovering the root cause and release the emotional charge so it no longer has power. I find that this enables those I work with to move more into who they truly are underneath and live more authentically, towards their full potential. The benefits are many and varied and include:- - freedom from, or greatly reduced trauma, stress and anxiety symptoms; - move from negative thinking and catastrophising to balanced and positive; - a shift in perspective from feeling stuck and helpless to hope and clarity; - healthier relationships and boundaries with people/food/work/substances. EFT is a highly effective, gentle technique which combines talk therapy with somatic stimulation giving the advantage of accessing the core issues and resolving them in a gentle, quicker and more thorough way. The memory remains but the physical reactions and sensations are reduced or eliminated. This technique is effective for addressing stress, anxiousness, trauma, PTSD, phobias, weight issues, relationship issues, excessive emotions (such as overwhelming anger, grief, sadness, despair, etc) negative and limiting beliefs. It often works when nothing else does. A traumatic event is much more than just a story that happened long ago. The emotions and sensations, experienced at that time may have become imprinted during the trauma and instead of being memories, they are still experienced as disruptive physical reactions and sensations in the present. And often these become worse, not better, with time. The human brain detects threats via the limbic system, which has the job of keeping you safe and usually happens completely subconsciously. It is responsible for the tagging of negative experiences with an emotional charge designed to indicate that something is wrong. Each time there is, for example, a traumatic experience, during which a person feels powerless, the limbic system tags it as unsafe and stores it in its memory bank. It is continually scanning the present environment, comparing what is happening now with its stores of previously tagged memories - and if it sees a connection with a previously tagged memory, it instantly puts your system on high alert and a fear response, either fight, flight, freeze or fawn, kicks in. The traumatic event may be months or years in the past but now the emotional (unconscious) brain keeps generating uncomfortable bodily sensations every time this memory is consciously or unconsciously activated. There is a gentle way to resolve such issues and I can help. FEES My fees are $150 per session. SESSION TIME 60 minutes.

You need time to tell your story and other health professionals don't have that time. One client who was depressed and anxious following a workplace injury said that I was the very first person that had the time to listen to what happened and was also interested and cared. He had seen doctors, psychiatrists, social workers etc but he never felt really cared for until he came to me. Whatever your issue, I am here to listen and help. Hope to hear from soon. I am a member of 3 professional associations which have have high standards and require a minimum of 10 hours Professional Development each year. I have a Bachelor of Counselling and Grad. Cert. Supervision as well as B. Th and M.Min

Many people who contact me already understand their patterns, yet still feel trapped inside anxiety, trauma, emotional overwhelm, low mood, or relationship conflict that keeps repeating. You may look functional on the outside while internally feeling exhausted, disconnected, stuck, or constantly battling your own reactions. Therapy should do more than simply help you cope; it should help you understand what is driving these patterns and how to change them. I work with trauma, PTSD, CPTSD, anxiety, depression, stress, relationship difficulties, ADHD, and neurodivergence using approaches such as Internal Family Systems-informed therapy, ACT, Metacognitive Therapy, Jungian-informed work, and hypnosis when appropriate. My approach is compassionate, practical, and focused on creating meaningful and lasting change rather than endless analysis. Alongside my clinical practice, I am an academic researcher and external supervisor for Master’s students in counselling. I also support self-managed and plan-managed NDIS participants. If you are ready to begin addressing what brought you here, you are welcome to arrange a free consultation. Act Right Now Counselling Services also maintains consistent 5-star Google reviews.

Relationship & Marriage Counselling in Australia

Nurturing a healthy partnership requires effort, communication, and occasionally, the guidance of an objective professional. Whether you are looking to rebuild trust, improve intimacy, or navigate a difficult transition, we connect you with experienced counsellors across the country. We simplify the search for specialists who provide a neutral ground for couples to explore their dynamics and strengthen their bond within the Australian community.

Reconnecting With Your Partner

  1. Share your relationship goals: Start by outlining the areas you wish to address, such as communication breakdowns, conflict resolution, or preparing for marriage. This helps us introduce you to therapists who specialise in the specific challenges you are facing.
  2. Consult with qualified experts: You will receive profiles from Australian relationship specialists. Review their therapeutic methods, such as Gottman Method or Emotionally Focused Therapy, to find a practitioner who resonates with both you and your partner.
  3. Build a resilient future: Once you have selected your counsellor, you will attend sessions designed to foster understanding and empathy. You will develop practical tools to de-escalate tension and create a more supportive, loving partnership.

How Australian Relationship Counsellors Help

Professional guidance can transform how couples interact and support one another. Specialists across Australia typically focus on these essential pillars:

  • Effective Communication: Learning how to express needs and listen actively without falling into defensive or critical patterns.
  • Conflict Management: Developing healthy ways to navigate disagreements and find compromises that respect both individuals' perspectives.
  • Trust and Intimacy: Addressing the underlying causes of emotional distance or broken trust to rediscover a sense of security and connection.
  • Pre-Marriage and Transition Support: Strengthening the foundation of a relationship before major life events like marriage, relocation, or starting a family.

The Counselling Journey Explained

While every couple's path is unique, professional relationship support in Australia usually follows a collaborative and respectful framework:

  • Joint and Individual Assessment: Understanding the history of the relationship and the unique viewpoints of both partners in a safe, non-judgmental environment.
  • Targeted Intervention: Applying specific exercises and communication techniques tailored to break negative cycles and encourage positive interaction.
  • Sustainable Growth: Moving beyond the initial crisis to establish long-term habits that promote mutual respect and emotional vitality. The goal is to provide Australian couples with the professional clarity and emotional skills needed to build a lasting and fulfilling life together.
