Working with Yogahari Healing (Eleni Kidis) has been a wonderful experience for me - Eleni has given me so many tools to work with, and to continue to work with, to help me heal, become sound and healthy again - Eleni is very professional, provides a fabulous service, and has an amazing approach to her work and to her clients, and this is the reasoning behind my 5-star rating - I most definitely recommend Eleni to others - thank you from the bottom of my heart Eleni - kindest always :)

Relationship and Marriage Counselling

My partner and I saw Eleni for couples counselling for just over a year. We say often now, if it wasn’t for meeting Eleni we wouldn’t be where we are today.
Eleni provided such a safe and comfortable space and helped us both learn so much about the relationship but also ourselves.
We highly recommend Eleni for couples counselling.

Therapist

Hi I've been working with this wonderful lady for 12 months now .
I came very scared as to what my future would be . In the first session I knew I was in the right place , I felt safe .

As we began to unravel my situation there was a feeling of empowerment and a understanding that yes I had been through a lot and I was validated for the first time in my life .
Today I am a different person , my husband has also come to some session and Eleni has supported the both of us on not only my journey but his too.
When I've not understood what Eleni was trying to explain she would brake things down in simply terms so I understood the path she was asking me to examine.
Our time on zoom was also brilliant .
Eleni's calming safe space that she's able to give during her sessions are invaluable.

Q&As

The opportunity to witness personal resilience, growth, courage and heart, from people who are seeking support during very vulnerable times in their lives is one of the most rewarding things to experience. Facing your personal traumas and emotional/psychological/wounds is no easy feat, so the opportunity to be able to support people through this process, for me is a very sacred act. As a career, there is nothing more meaningful than supporting people transform in ways that increases self- love, self-care, boundaries, acceptance, letting go, peace and forgiveness into their lives.

I wanted to personally challenge my own self-doubts about what I had to offer as a professional. I was ready to break through the limiting beliefs I had about myself and what I was capable of achieving. There is no bigger personal growth than having the courage to put yourself out there and let people know, hey, I'm a trustful person, and I have the skills and experience that can help you get through this really challenging time.

One of my biggest strengths as a therapist is my ability to hold a very safe space where people can be raw, honest and vulnerable. I have a variety of skills as a therapist, but what also makes my work a little unique is that I am also a yoga teacher and can bring a very wholistic lens to the therapeutic work if that is what people are seeking. I can very easily bring together western approaches to psycho-therapy and eastern philosophical wisdom!

Services

My approach to counselling/therapy work varies according to what each individual person is seeking and open to. I can draw on purely western approaches to healing the wounded psyche/self and trauma using healing approaches and modalities such as: s psycho-dynamic theory, trauma-informed practice, attachment theory, strength-based practice, Family Constellation work, somatic embodiment, mindfulness, relaxation techniques and Radical Exposure Tapping.

I have an interest in supporting people heal from trauma and childhood traumas and value working with both women and men, couples and families. My counselling approach is very relational meaning that I place a great deal of importance in building a therapeutic relationship based on trust and safety.

I work with women, men, couples and families.

Family Constellations is a therapeutic approach developed by Bert Hellinger- a Gestalt and Systems Therapist. Family Constellations is a psycho-dynamic and spiritual approach to resolving current problems by looking into family systems and ancestral lines.

In Family Constellations, current problems are perceived as stemming back to entanglements, exclusions (secrets), disorder (e.g. a child carrying a parent emotionally) and traumas that get passed on unconsciously and energetically from previous generations of the family, even if those affected now are unaware of the original event in the past.
Family Constellation work uses a somatic approach and favours a whole body sensing and feeling experience over thinking and analysing, to uncover hidden dynamics of the unconscious mind and soul.
Hidden trans-generational family dynamics that cause emotional entanglements can impact your ability to experience connection, love, peace, acceptance, alignment and abundance in life.
If you have a particular issue that is impacting your life and wellbeing and want to finally release guilt, shame and blame, then family constellation work has the potential to drastically shift things for you.

In Family Constellations we are required us to put aside our own experience of the world and assume an attitude of ‘not knowing’ in order to enter the experience with openness, curiosity and without judgements.

Private Yoga for healing trauma are private classes that create a safe space for people to explore yoga for self-healing and empowerment.
In the sessions you will explore ways to connect to your body in a safe way through body postures, breathing, visualisation and mindfulness.

I have extensive experience providing therapeutic counselling for people with depression, anxiety, trauma and complex childhood experiences. I can provide support to women, men and families.

I have experience providing psycho-somatic therapeutic approaches to trauma recovery. As a senior registered yoga teacher I can teach skills for trauma recovery and for managing anxiety & depression by incorporating somatic techniques, breathing and relaxation for self-regulation and mindfulness for managing difficult thoughts and emotions.

If you are interested, I can skilfully weave both western therapeutic approaches with eastern healing techniques and wisdom, and I have found that this is the main reason why NDIS participants like to receive support through my service.

If you are an NDIS participants please contact me directly as I am able to provide a FREE 30 minute consultation about your support needs. I have experience working with people experiencing mental health issues such as depression, anxiety and complex trauma as well as with carers.

Are you looking for trauma therapy in Melbourne? Radical Exposure Tapping (RET) is a form of exposure therapy designed to assist people heal from traumatic events by effectively resolving memories that feed post traumatic stress disorder, anxiety, anger and conflictual patterns of relating with others. Its approach combines the well researched Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT).

RET works for people who are ready, open and willing to be free from distressing feelings and entrust themselves to being directed by me -the therapist. This deeply healing technique requires you to be open to riding the wave of intense and confronting emotions and sensations that can arise during the process. The ability to ride the wave is what contributes to the success of this profound healing technique.

I begin therapy sessions by exploring your family of origin and any significant distressing or traumatic events. Once I have established a therapeutic rapport with you, I will takes notes of what you remember seeing during the traumatic event, as well as noting what you are feeling in your body whilst recalling the event. This information is then used by me to guide the process of repeating bits of this information back to you. You then repeat back what I have said whilst tapping on different areas of your body. Prior to the process, I will guide you through the “safe place”exercise to ensure that distressing memories can be safely managed during the therapeutic process.

Radical Exposure Tapping can be used as a technique during general counselling sessions, or as a complete therapeutic process in itself. If you come specifically to use this technique for trauma, the number of sessions depends on the memories or events that you would like to work through.

Yogahari 350 hr Yoga Teacher Training lays the foundations for how to approach the practice of yoga- both as a teacher and as a lifelong student.
It has not been developed to promote a certain style, method or brand of yoga, because what I will be teaching is not a particular innovation of mine. It is a culmination of devoted personal practice and teaching, treading this path for twenty-five years.
The training is held over the course of one year, with a huge emphasis on developing an independent personal practice and psycho-spiritual development.
We delve into asana, pranayama and meditation and as a committed Tantrika, there is a huge emphasis on the traditional teachings of non-dual Tantra. Building your knowledge of the view/spiritual teachings of this ancient and life affirming tradition will give you a much deeper understanding of the asana, pranayama and meditation and energy body practices you will learn.
I’m committed to developing one-on-one relationships with students and that is why I have purposefully chosen to only take a maximum of 10 students, creating optimal opportunities for personal learning and mentoring.
Yogahari Yoga Teacher training is a 350 hrs registered teacher training course with Yoga Australia. Upon successful completion of this course, you will be able to apply for registration as a Level 1 Teacher with Yoga Australia.

The couple therapy support that I provide is based on attachment theory. In the sessions we explore how each person's attachment patterns developed in childhood effect how each person is able to attune to the emotional needs of the other.

We explore the relationship patterns that keeps the relationship in conflict. The process guides people towards taking responsibility for how each person contributes to the relationship dynamic as well as exploring how committed each person is to de-escalating the conflict.

It takes courage and commitment to undergo this process, so it's good to think about how committed you are to your own personal transformation. When we go through a process of self-reflection and individual growth, these changes ripple out to touch and transform the intimate relationship.
