What’s the secret to taking a great photograph?
Being relaxed, confident in yourself and your photographers abilities. Enjoy the process, be prepared for anything where children are involved and don't stress about them, they will almost always surprise you.
What questions might you ask a client when starting a new project?
Who is going to be at the shoot? Ages of youngest kids? (if any) -this determines the best time of day. Where you would like your photos taken? What you would like from your session, as in final photo product wise? What clothing you will wear?
What do you love most about your job?
Just about everything! Meeting new people, plus seeing long term clients regularly who become like family, watching their families grow. Laughing with people, having fun and creating great memories for customers that will last well into the future. Watching their expressions when they see their finished portraits at collection is priceless! It's not a job, it's a passion.
What inspired you to start your own business?
Photography is truly a passion for me. When I was young, I had a darkroom at home. Naturally, this developed into a career, but not as early as you may assume. I studied Nursing, travelled extensively and over this time developed my desire to enter the professional photography world, which has led me the long and happy path to where I am today.

No, photography is a person to person job. Both the session and viewing of your images is in person. Occasionally images can be viewed on line but only in certain instances.
What changes have you made to keep your customers safe from Covid-19?
Totally renovated the Studio during Covid lockdowns for a new fresh and up-to-date look. Hand sanitiser is easily accessed at the Studio entrance, cleaning regularly, and spacing clients apart.
But then again, my Studio has always been clean and clients never feels rushed.
Pregnancy Photos
Welcome to Lifeworks Photography Studio!
Pregnancy is such a special time in your life and I can’t wait to help create photos that allow you to to celebrate this moment and look back on for many, many years.
Ideally, you want to schedule your maternity session anywhere between 32 - 36 weeks, this is the optimal time for a single baby pregnancy, and if all is going well. If you are expecting multiple babies or have any pregnancy difficulties you may prefer earlier.
I want you to be as comfortable as possible throughout your maternity session, movement can be kept to a minimum, which means simple poses which I move through in an easy flow. Some women are more adventurous, poses such as, on the floor are less comfortable and more difficult, I will fulfil any or your requests as long as you and your baby are safe doing so. I have couches nearby for resting in between.
If you would like to include your partner and children, they are welcomed!
Bathroom facilities are available at my studio for your comfort.
I have a HUGE range of gorgeous Gowns, from fluffy to fitting, ultra glamorous to Boho, simple and fancy! Divine pieces for revealing your baby bump or fully covering but accentuating its amazing shape. Beautiful fabrics for draping and tossing, plus accessories for hair and sparkly jewels. They are ALL available during your shoot at no extra charge in my Studio.
Your maternity photography session can go for anywhere between 45 mins to several hours, depending on how many changes and different looks you are wishing to purchase.
Following your session, a time will be made with you for your Viewing and Purchasing appointment, usually the following week. Here you will relive the fun you had at your session and be amazed by your incredibly beautiful pregnant body. Your purchased photos are retouched and given our signature enhancements prior to printing. All purchased portraits include the matching digital file.

Newborn Photography
Photos in the first four weeks of your baby’s life are vital for newborn portraiture as your baby is generally more relaxed and sleepy, allowing for more artistic and natural poses.
Your newborn may be photographed nude, clothed, or gently wrapped and asleep, in a blissful state of peace, or awake if curious with the surroundings. You’re welcome to bring along special blankets or props, or use the beautiful studio wraps, newborn clothing, and props on offer.
After the fourth week, your baby will be more likely to be awake for their photos, and perhaps not as relaxed for those dreamy newborn poses. Babies grow and change at an exponential rate, and pass through milestones quickly in the first year.
The next stages capture different milestones throughout the year as your little one grows.
All times are perfect, the range of photos will just vary depending on their growth stage and capabilities.
