We were considering 5 other companies and were about to commit, when a friend urged us to speak to Dan @ Easigrass first.
And so glad we did! They were the only company to raise the key risks and challenges of standard approaches given our landscape's gradient and mix of concrete and soil base. Dan's knowledge of the structural materials, methods and how the right approach not only enables their Guarantees, but focused on the ultimate experience of our kids using the area. He also gave us a better view and some great ideas to make the space even more usable.
During the project, communication was good, we completed within overall timelines and budget. But what impressed us was how they handed things when the project didn't quite go to plan. Dan was flexible, fair and professional. He and his team went above and beyond to get the best outcome and we cant be happier with the end result.
6 months on, bad weather and over an extended lockdown - our Easigrass basketball area still looks and plays great. It is certainly showing it will stand the test of time vs the elements (and our hard using kids :)).
Happy to recommend to others - and looking forward to engaging the team again for our future projects.

What do you love most about your job?
It's highly rewarding being presented the opportunity to design and build modern, contemporary and tropical landscapes across some of Sydney's affluent suburbs. It's a passion of mine discussing with customers how to best integrate products and features to transform their gardens into a usable space and compliment their lifestyle.
What inspired you to start your own business?
I grew up with an appreciation for detail and presentation. The concept of starting and building a business is one that I held since a young age. Landscaping became my passion in my early twenties followed by business development. I especially enjoyed selling to client's.

We believe our point of difference is strong customer service, a close eye for detail, solutions and options and a friendly, polite professional team.
We are transparent with budgets with our clients and furthermore when challenges are presented, we proactively and professionally work to reach the most desired result for both parties. We approach our work with honesty and integrity and this is backed by our client reviews.

Modern Landscaping provides online consultations to qualify budgets and simple landscape jobs. Further to this service, we offer for an affordable fee a Mood Board to illustrate design concepts when clients do not want to progress or pay for a full landscape design. This often translates to the quoting stage where we can efficiently deliver a detailed estimation and stand by our quotations.
What changes have you made to keep your customers safe from Covid-19?
We have been conscious of limiting face to face service throughout the pandemic. An example of this was offering our online consultations and Mood Boards.
Modern Landscaping adopted a simple strategy of gathering information from our clients and their properties via phone, SMS and email and this allowed us to deliver prompt quotations, schedule projects promptly and meet client timeline expectations.
Secondly our staff used public amenities to keep our clients safe and kept distance and wore masks.
Landscape design
THE DESIGN PROCESS
After our design consultation where we understand your aesthetic tastes as well as your functional requirements, Modern Landscaping will undergo some ket steps in the design process:
Landscape Concept plan: A concept plan/scaled drawing of a development conceptually showing the function, context and attributes of the area to be landscaped. The plan will be accompanied by example images to demonstrate the ideas portrayed.
Development Application (DA): If the job requires council approval, a DA will be prepared using the Concept Plan provided by Modern Landscaping. Any fees involved to produce the documentation required for submission to council or to make amendments to the concept plan in accordance with council requirements will be outlined by our design team.
Optional items:
Construction Documentation: Detailed and working construction plans of the entire job will be drawn specifically for major structures (such as swimming pools, decks or pergolas) and for the overall set out of the project. This may also include garden lighting, drainage, finishes and planting plans.
Further to this we offer 3D modelling to allow better visualisation of your dream garden to feel more confident in understanding exactly what you’re getting in return for what you’re spending before committing to the construction of it.

On acceptance of the construction quote, Modern Landscaping’s experienced construction team will build your garden, from the structural works through to the horticultural installation.
