Dave Spicer is one of Australia's Musical Geniuses. His musical brilliance and vocal mastery goes without saying... For me however, it is his emotional intelligence that redefines how all of his students learn.

Services

Amateur to professionals.

The more I teach, and the more I study different methodologies, the more I am discovering there is no single approach that works for everyone. After 20 years of teaching at the highest levels I have a huge bag of 'teaching tricks' that I can draw upon to nurture out the results a student is looking for, as long as I am patient and give all my attention. I am constantly modifying my approach for a single student as we progress based on their learning style (kinaesthetic, auditory, visual, etc), their level of musicianship, and how they are adapting to the information I am giving them. Good teaching is an art and it's the reason I get such great results in the studio.

For that reason, I don't follow any one methodology - rather a broad mixture of many. After our first lesson I will propose a plan moving forward for your voice and goals.

If you are interested in taking your piano to a performance level and establishing a career in music - I can help! As a performer, I have numerous recordings, television, radio and festival appearances to credit. I have been an award winner and finalist for many competitions including the Australian National Jazz Awards. I am on call to play (and has played) with many of Australia’s leading artists. In recent years music has taken me to America, United Kingdom, Ireland, Paris, regional France, New Zealand, Singapore and Papua New Guinua. Let's chat about your piano playing!

As an Educator Dave holds double Masters degrees in Contemporary Piano and Voice performance and is currently teaching at the Queensland Conservatorium of Music - Griffith University.

Dave is an official Kawai artist and plays Kawai instruments.
