Bec's lessons have greatly improved my abilities and confidence as a vocalist!

I've been working with Bec for almost a year now. I started out, having had lessons in the past, mostly focused on polishing some rough edges and learning how to take care of my voice as I'd always found that was about the extent of what other teachers had to offer before they started trying to take me in a direction I just wasn't into. Working with Bec has been really different and so much more rewarding. Her approach just clicked for me (plus, when something doesn't click she's very patient ) and the focus is always on finding a way to help me safely achieve and control the sound I want. Sometimes it's vocal exercises and sometimes it's a (gentle) pep talk but it's always effective. Can't recommend Bec highly enough. More...

Practical, helpful lessons that have boosted my confidence, preparation, knowledge and skills

Bec is endlessly patient and my singing lessons have been a joy - challenging, but a joy. I need to get back to it after a bit of a break as I miss the energy I get from the lessons.

Q&As

My passion is helping you to become better friends with your voice, and by extension, better friends with yourself. I help people to feel more empowered to express themselves and have fun with music and creativity. Seeing folks' confidence, vocal agility and self-love improve over the course of working together is so rewarding for me.

My heart breaks when I hear the stories of people whose family, partners or teachers in the past told them they couldn't or shouldn't sing.
I firmly believe that music is for EVERYONE. I work most often with adult beginners, professional musicians, and teenagers. It doesn’t matter if you just want to sing in your bedroom, or you’re already performing in front of thousands of people. I’m here to help you develop lots of vocal colours to paint with, and keep your voice healthy, safe, and strong.

I also work with speech, helping those who speak a lot in their work to avoid vocal fatigue and communicate effectively.

My interests in psychology & neurology have led me to incorporate coaching practices into my work, and study trauma-informed practice, to create a safe and healthy space for you to try new things, and processes to help integrate singing into your life and set goals in a way that is enjoyable and achievable.

I'm also a huge anatomy nerd, and my studies of science-based technique, primarily through Estill Voice Training, have given me so much vocal freedom and versatility, and I love sharing this empowering knowledge with my clients.

As for me, I create my own music as Tilley and pursue a variety of creative projects and mediums. I love music and art in all their forms. I’ve done roving character performance art, modelling for art photography & life drawing, writing poetry… and when I’m not doing all that sometimes I like to work in festivals & events as a stage manager or other behind the scenes roles.

I work both in person (currently in nipaluna / Hobart) and online via Zoom. I love working with clients all over Australia and internationally.
