What’s the secret to taking a great photograph?
Relaxed and happy clients!
It helps that I love what I do and enjoy interacting with people that I meet for the first time.
I’m one of those people who hates having my photo taken so, I truly understand others who feel the same way.
And, as a stand up comedian, I also know how to play to the audience so I’ll always make your shoot a relaxed and fun time.
What questions might you ask a client when starting a new project?
What is your budget? What do you want out of your shoot? Sure, you want photos but it’s important that I understand what you like or don’t like; what’s important for you when you look at a photo eg. emotion, personality, love etc.; if you have a certain style in mind eg. lifestyle, formal, more casual, crazy fun etc.
What do you love most about your job?
Being able to preserve special memories for clients - imagery that future generations will enjoy.
Surprising clients when they receive their images eg. if a client orders a big order I’ll always add in a special something just for them.
What inspired you to start your own business?
I worked as a photographer when I was only 17 before completing my nursing training and then later entering the corporate world. As a senior executive in a large national corporation, I managed marketing, advertising and capital works. Part of that role saw me involved in directing fashion shoots. It reminded me how much I loved photography and inspired me to be my own boss.
Why should our clients choose you?
Clients will receive a truly professional service and product. I learnt my craft back in the day of film so have an excellent understanding of light, composition and technique.
Importantly too, I treat my clients with great care and respect and always feel privileged that they’ve entrusted me with this special job.

I do have commercial clients who send me product to photograph for them and we make it a seamless process.
What changes have you made to keep your customers safe from Covid-19?
Closed my studio and focus more on outdoor shoots. Still offer a mobile studio set-up for those who need it. Fastidious about hand washing, masks were required and sanitising props.
Intimate wedding and elopement photography
Don’t want the whole getting dressed to getting drunk experience? Well, that’s not the sort of wedding photography I do either.
I specialise in small weddings - my favourites are two hours but I’ll even do an hour, if that’s what you want.
And, even though you might only need an hour or two, I’ll still take as much love and care to capture all those special memories you’ll love to look back on.
Family, maternity and newborn photography
Specialising in natural light lifestyle photography at your location mine.
I love producing images that shows the individuals personality rather than posed shots that don’t really represent who they are.
And, if it’s a family I’m photographing, I’ll make sure I shoot all combinations eg. all the family, siblings together, each sibling with parents, all individual shots etc.
Engagement photography
It’s an exciting time when someone finally pops the question or, at least says, “we may as well get married” and, for lots of couples, it’s a time they want to capture.
I can make it a shoot with a message or simply beautiful images to will forever remind you of that special time.
